Any late interviewees hear back from Pitt?

Just curious if any of you that interviewed late at Pitt (i.e. not included in the first batch of decisions) have heard anything back yet? I interviewed in late Feb and have not heard anything good, bad, or otherwise...

i interviewed in late feb as well. i called a few weeks ago, and they told me my app would be reviewed on april 2nd. has anyone else heard back or heard differently?
 
i interviewed late february as well...no word yet
 
Someone in the admissions dept. said that the next batch of decisions will probably be sent the second week in April. I interviewed early/mid Feb. and still have heard nothing, but I think my interviewer may have been late with his write-up.
 
do they put the decision on their status page or do you have to wait for the mail?

got my decision letter today. another waitlist.

I don't know if this helps, but the admissions department emailed all of us students and told us that our interview reports for late interviewers were due tomorrow (april 16th). So, if you interviewed in late Feb or March you are in this batch. But, don't be sad about the waitlist. A TON of my classmates got in off the waitlist, like half the class. good luck!

got waitlist letter today, west coast
dated 4/10...

I just called and they told me it may be another 2-3 weeks, as they are still reviewing files. WTF? I interviewed 2/4. I can't believe my interviewer has not turned in my review yet. More waiting...
 
I feel your pain, folks.

Interviewed 2/14 (yippee, valentines day), Lisa said "If you don't hear from us in a month, call."

Didn't hear, so I called 3/15, secretary said "Your file is up for review really soon, you should hear in a couple of weeks."

Called again last Monday (4/7) and secretary said "You should be hearing from us by the end of the week."

Yup, that was last week. STILL waiting..... (probably only for a waitlist anyways..)

i just called them today and the lady said i should hear from them in a couple of weeks. and then i asked for clarification and she said a decision has been made on my application and i should get something this week or the next. her tone and voice is neutral, i can't tell whether it's a + or - decision.
 
Any news recently? I'm STILL waiting.
 
hey tallchica, i interviewed on valentines day too, were you wearing red as well???

still no word, and the admissions lady said we were supposed to hear the second week of march... hmm i don't think so, since it's the end of friggin april. i gave up on them anyway and decided to go elsewhere.

good luck all with pitt, it looks like a great school. probably would have gone there (if i got in) and found out sooner.

Tallchica, I interviewed on the same day. I got my waitlisted letter a few days ago.
 
Interviewed March 4, waitlist letter arrived yesterday.

Sigh.

Anybody actually accepted after a "late" interview (i.e. after the batch admission)? I don't like the idea that I spent so much money on a flight and hotel for, at most, a chance at a waitlist.

I don't know which I would prefer to be true:

That I flew out to Pitt for, at best, a shot at the waitlist, or that yes indeed, plenty of people who interviewed "late" got outright acceptances.

Anybody else?

yup, i was the other one in red. got the "nice" (as my parents phrased it) waitlist letter last week. i'm tired of the waiting game, so i withdrew.

look out Penn State, here I come!!!

Wow...I must be the only person who still hasn't received a decision from Pitt! Must mean waitlist or reject....
 
don't worry standoc, i still haven't heard either. but i too have given up on them, waiting sucks, i say screw pitt. hehe
 
Okay,

The US postal service is either 1. run by snails or 2. completely incompetent. I just called pitt and asked them if they have sent any correspondence to me and they stated a decision letter was sent 4/23. it is now 5/1 and I have received NOTHING in the so called "mail." I couldn't tell from her tone of voice what the decision was, but i am assuming not good, since I have received no email or phone call from the adm. office. Shoot.
By the way, I interviewed mid-march.

I heard back FINALLY. I gave up on the postal service and just emailed them and they told me i was waitlisted. For those of us on the waitlist, Dean Curtiss told me that it is ranked, and that they will begin pulling people off after May 15th.

Anyone who interviewed late get accepted? Anyone?
 
well i called pitt today and they said that they mailed my letter on tuesday or wednesday, so i should hear tomorrow probably, i'm expecting a waitlist, which is fine cause i'm not going anyway, but i just think it is so rude to take so damn long.
 
or rejection... heh, pretty much i know it's not an acceptance.

I got waitlisted today as well. Too bad I'm not an "extraordinary" applicant...just an excellent one. I'm DARN fine with that!!!!
Maybe I'll get off the wailist. When will they tell us what our rank is.
 
I don't think they let us know where we are on the list (not that knowing would change anything). But mine did say "super duper excellent"...maybe I'm on the super duper priorty list?
 
i called up pitt and they did not tell me what my waitlist ranking is. waitlist movement will start in the beginning of june. letters of update can be sent in anytime.

Oh I'm sad now...I guess there's just no love for me at Pitt then.
 
I received my waitlist letter a few days ago.

Is the general consensus that no acceptance letters have been sent since early March? Has anyone talked to the admissions department to confirm this?

I know a late interviewee from last year with a 38, 3.75+ who was initially waitlisted. They accepted him very shortly after May 15th, so hopefully we'll be hearing back soon!
 
when i interivewed there i directly asked if it was for the waitlist or if they were still giving out acceptances as well. she said they were still giving out acceptances to candidates they really like.. hmm... doesn't look like they're giving out too many.
 
Yeah, I heard the same thing when I interviewed in mid march. They specifically stated that they had already accepted a full class at that point, but were still offering some acceptances. I got the feeling that they were prepared to offer one or two of these at the most...obviously they didn't want to anger everyone by letting us know that we flew/drove all the way out there for the chance at a waitlist. But the good news is, we got on the waitlist, which appears to be the best option available to late applicants?! Silver lining?
 
I interviewed in late March and I got an acceptance letter last weekend (~5/1). I'm waiting on their financial aid but I don't think it's going to be too good. So I'll most likely be withdrawing my application. Good luck to those that are still on the waitlist. There's a spot opening up.
