My questions are directed to Loma Linda students. If you are not one, u can look over my post.

I have some questions regarding Loma Linda dental program before I actually apply for it this summer.

I am a Christian, but do not belong to any denominations. That means I am not a SDA and don't agree the regulation that we must be vegertarian and keep the Sabbath on Fri-Sat only. Why? I am just afraid that I may end up bounded by regulation and laws, and deviate away from God's love after attending the school.

However, I am willing to obey the school regulations (no meat, no veggie, no sex, not smoke, keep sabbath etc..) and study SDN's theology as long it's bibically correct since I understand you guys are doing out of love for Christ, and I shouldn't look down on those praise worthy things (roman 14). I really want to attend the school more than other schools b/c my desire for mission trips.

Can Loma Linda students eat meat outside of the campus?

I attended a seven-adventist service once before, but I am not used to the worship since I came from a Charamastic background. Are there many Charamastic services around the campus and on the campus during the Sabbath?

Do students there actually have passion for Christ or just being religious as a SDA? I notice the Loma Linda perfer to take SDA, but sometimes a SDA may claim to be a SDA, but have no passion for Christ.

Does the school accept many Christians but non-SDA?

Thank you for answering my questions. Give me a PM if you pefer such mean.

I'm not religious at all but one thing in your post struck me as kinda weird. The eating meat off campus thing.

How, or more importnatly, why, on earth can a dental school care about what you eat off campus. That is just so weird to me. I do not mean to offend, it's just so alien to me.

I belive smooth is wrong... It is true that there is no coffee or meat available at school caf..but no regulations are in place for it..meaning u can drink ur coffee at school or outside there are rules about not smoking, drugs and alcohol while u attend there ALL times i believe...and its all about promoting healthier way of life...who wants a doctor who does drugs anyways

Heck if you know where to go, you can even find caffeine on campus in a vending machine... It is quite a well guarded secred however.

I guess it depends on the person all schools got their pros and cons gotta see which ones fit u best...i like coffee but i guess its a small price to pay to have one of the best clinical trainin and their volunteer program abraod is pretty unique

Hey smooth. I attended the physical therapy school there a handful of years back, so I got first hand knowledge for you. Don't worry too much about the SDA thing. I would say that almost half of my PT class wasn't SDA. They do accept other christians. They even say on their website somewhere that they welcome applicants from all beliefs. You don't have to keep their Sabbath if you don't want to. They just close down the school early on Fridays and are closed on Saturdays. It's up to you what you want to do with your time on those days. They don't serve meat on campus, but you can eat whatever you want. Basically, being that they are an SDA institution, they follow SDA regulations, but they don't force you to conform to their beliefs. You can worship however you want. If I remember correctly, the only thing they ask you to conform to at all times is to refrain from tobacco/alcohol/drug use. They do require you to attend a chapel service every week. I used that time to study/sleep.

And yes, there will be many SDAs that you will meet on campus that generally have a passion for Christ. I'm SDA, but I'm pretty liberal. I never felt bound by rules and regulations. I did, however, have to go across the street to have sex or a smoke.
