I'm interested in eventually starting my own nonprofit or working in upper management in a currently existing one. I will be getting my MPH in Epidemiology starting this fall. Should I also get an MHA? My undergraduate degree is in business administration. Is there any merit to getting both the MPH/MHA, or should I just take more electives focusing in health admin?

An MHA degree is more geared towards hospital management and policy. While I'm sure you could use some of the knowledge you obtain from that degree towards managing a nonprofit, it would be better for you to just do an MPH with a HPM focus. If this is something you are interested in, you could see if there are any programs that would let you dual-concentrate in HPM and Epidemiology. Would likely save you time and money.

Didn't know that MHA was heavily hospital focused, but now that I think about it (healthcare administration, duh) it makes sense, haha! Thanks for your insight 🙂
