Any other "type B" personalities?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm very type B and I don't think I can ever become type A. But I know many type A people who are the most kind and compassionate people ever. I don't judge people on how they do things, but what they do.
I see where you're coming from. Personally, I judge people on how and what they do. More specifically, I like people who are very good at doing me.

Yeah I hate it when people want to help me just so they can feel helpful!!!!!

JK LOL who am I kidding I'm a wreck. I need all the help I can get.

You've seriously never had someone try to "help" you without being asked and in such a way that it was obvious they were just showing off? It happens all the time in pretty much every industry.

Not by offering me study material...

This type A type B stuff is all sorts of useless

In other news, most pre meds were way too boring, uptight, and anxious for me. My class has a fair amount of those people but plenty I get along with too.

So I'm annoying for thinking someone who enjoys watching others fail is annoying? Ok. I'm glad I don't live in your world.
No, you're annoying because you sympathize with the girl who was a little too full of herself and failed.

It's less about enjoying watching someone fail and more about watching someone who has lectured you about doing well in school and thinking they are better for trivial reasons get karma for that.

Not enjoying others failure. Just laughing at self assured people.

Everything depends on your overall approach, grades are not ALL you need do be a good med student...

Don´t be scared by people who you seem "different", you´ll see that there are going to be many people in the same position as you say 🙂

Look, I know all about douche bags. I am one. Douche bags don't offer their study materials to other people. They just don't.

I feel like it's very likely that the above poster just misinterpreted this girl's intentions. To me, she seems like someone who is just super anxious. It also seems like she may have been trying to help.

You guys are way too paranoid.

Can confirm, she was being facetious when offering her notes. It was just an excuse to look at mine and comment how messy and disorganized they were. Hence the word "Smugly" in my original post...... seriously I can tell when someone's being facetious.

Sounds more like she was being a sarcastic dingus.

Only on SDN will someone prioritize their pride in their index cards over an opportunity for open social interaction.

I think you misunderstood my point. I could care less who has nicer index cards than me, it was just satisfying to see the "class gunner" getting knocked down a peg. She was just kind of a rude person in general, and always tried to make people feel inferior. The type of pre-med to complain to the prof that she got a 93 instead of a 95 on an exam. The rest of our class was really type B, including myself. We all got along with each other except for her, had group outings, study sessions , and hang outs (drinking sessions)

These stories are interesting because it shows who naturally sides with the sarcastic gunner dinguses.

One of the girls in my pre-med group would always try to make sure she had at least 20 more notecards than me on any given subject. She'd always smugly ask me if I wanted to borrow them to study, and hassle me about my policy of never pulling an all-nighter to study ( I can get my work done in time with proper planning AND get a full nights sleep. Blasphemy to pre-med culture right?) It was always so satisfying seeing her face when I would get better scores than her on all our organic chemistry and biology tests.

You should kindly let her know that pulling all-nighters to study are the worst ideas imaginable, especially in med school. 🤔

What if they are all type B's pretending to be type A?

I would classify myself as TYPE A.
But I am exploring new areas, and developing hobbies which is causing me to slowly integrate to TYPE B lol

Wouldn't that solidify your Type A nature?

In this theory, personalities that are more competitive, outgoing, ambitious, impatient and/or aggressive are labeled Type A, while more relaxed personalities are labeled Type B.

So by pursuing different hobbies/interests you're being more outgoing and ambitious.
