Any PAs applying to dental school? Does dental school look at PA applications negatively or neutrally? Thanks!

Don't PA's make the same money as doctors (well, maybe not quite as the same as surgeons or radiologists but still)?

That's why this kid I know was trying to do the last time I heard from him.

According to the kid, you make the same dough but don't do much work as real doctors.

Just curious to see if his BS'ing ass is right.

He might be making close to what an underpaid family practice doctor, pediatrician, or a psychiatrist is making (these guys tend to be on the low side in pay in comparison to the rest of the doctor population) but I doubt he makes as much as most other doctors... especially the specialists. However, he probably is working much less hours. It's not a bad field to pursue.

From what I know, the "kid" you're talking might be overly optimistic... As far as I know, the average PA salary is still much lower than the average doctor who isn't a specialist. I could be mistaken, but I don't think I am :) If I had to take a stab at it, I would guess that the average PA probably makes about half what a non-specialist MD makes. If you like salary search engines like salary.com, you could look it up and check it out.
