I sure am. I have been home for a week and have been submitting resumes and filling out applications for about a month before that. I received 1 interview for a minimum wage job that has required multiple written references and now my application is held up because they are having trouble calling one of the references! What is this world coming to lol. I did manage to pull an internship at a hospital that will start in a month and a half, but I need $$. Do you think that this period of unemployment/not-doing-**** will look bad to admissions committees ? I really don't know what to do, I'm so bored I'm pulling my hair out 😴

Are you near a hospital or a lab? Where I live they are still hiring people in those fields.

Keeping this PT job at an engineering firm that I've had for the past year and a half or so. Hate every minute I'm there, but at least its a source of $$. Planning on leaving a few weeks before med school starts.

I don't know if you are looking for a medical related job - if you're not I would expand your search. I work in HR and I can tell you that this past year we have received a spike in applications and people stopping by to inquire about positions. Look to large companies that have had recent layoffs, rifs. They will probably be looking for pt people that they don't have to pay benefits too.

Finally picked up a PRN phlebotomist job at a local hospital...Changed my availability to "will live in hospital and work any and all shifts" and salary expectations to "below minimum wage".😀 Gotta do what it takes...

I'lve been working at a pharmacy all year...as a tech......my god shoot me......Going to quite mid june and just hang out with the 'rents until I move to school.

I could go on but i'll make enemies with people in the pharmacy forums.

Yeah I was looking into trying to get a job like that (for several years now), but I don't see how to get it. I have never been fortunate enough to really get a "respected" no-education job whether it was HS or college. Hopefully there will be more positions open when school starts up again in August lol I really would like to save some money just in case I manage to get into medical school

I'm working for Princeton Review...it's flexible, and I can technically take it with me wherever I go (transfer branches). I highly recommend it to any high scorers...pay is good too...sadly, it's only part-time.

You can either score really well on one of their diagnostics (for the test type you want to teach) or you can submit your real scores within such and such percentile. I know that scores in the 90+ percentiles are fine; below that, I'm not sure.

I used my real scores.

You can go to www.princetonreview.com to find out more. The "Employment" link is at the very bottom of the page.

If they are hiring for your test type of interest, then you do an audition where you teach a little mock lesson.

Training is one or two weekends, and it is paid. Then you are certified to teach classes. Later on, you can certify for private tutoring (for more $).

I know what you mean I'm working the same job, I might keep it even during med school just work one day every two weeks. On a weekend of course, the money is great but the job is bad!

I can relate Pharmacy Tech jobs are arghhhh. I'm going to hang on to mine for the money though. I just might even keep it during med school to work one day a week every two weeks. Of course on a weekend though.

No disrespect to any pharmacy majors but pharmacy is boring.

Is there any entry level positions there? Some hospitals will either help train you or help pay for the cost of your training. Good luck
