So I have been very fortunate enough to be accepted to many schools this cycle including my top choice. I had a few more interviews scheduled in the upcoming months. Having been accepted to my top choice, is there any reason why I should still go to the upcoming interviews? Or is it safe to say that I can go ahead and withdraw? Thank you guys!

Oh and I may add if ranking matters at all they are all ranked lower. Thanks!

First off, congratulations!!! You are going to be a doctor!!! But, unless you plan on attending why would you go interview? I mean, if you were eventually accepted to these schools you have yet to interview at and were accepted it wouldn't change your mind on attending your top choice, right? So, it really wouldn't make sense to interview. I mean I am sure they have many applicants that would LOVE to be in your shoes right now and they should probably give more attention to those who are really hoping for an interview let alone an acceptance. I would just write a sincere letter letting them know you greatly appreciate the invitation to interview but have been accepted by and decided to attend "ABC" school. Or something to that extent.
Again, Congratulations! I hope to be in your difficult situation someday 😀.

You'd have to think about WHY you love the school that accepted you. If nothing the other schools could offer would change your mind, then of course you shouldn't go to the interviews. Give someone else a chance. Maybe the schools have much more impressive facilities than you thought, maybe one would give you a scholarship, or maybe one has better programs for you to do during your post M1 summer, but if none of these would make any difference to you just send them a quick email telling them thanks, but no thanks.

Thank you so much for the advice guys. I was wondering whether going to these interviews and perhaps getting a few more acceptances may help me negotiate a better financial aid package with the school I really want to attend?

I think it depends on how much effort/money it takes to interview at the other places. I'd interview at other schools if money/time/travel isn't an issue for these 2 reasons:
1. You don't know how much you'd like the school until you visit. You get a much better sense of the location, student, facility...etc
2. You don't know how much fin aid you are going to get from your top choice or other school, so keep options open

Seeing as they are all ranked lower and you already have lower ranked schools, no it won't. They get it, you have options. Chances are they aren't going to budge.

Extremely unlikely. However, if you think a good financial aid/merit package from a particular school might sway you into changing your selection, go ahead.

I went to two interviews after I got into my top choice, the first because it was right in my home town, and I thought it would be good to get some extra interview experience (my biggest weakness). The interview didn't go so hot because I, unsurprisingly, had no interest in actually getting in so I didn't prepare, though they did end up tempting me with a half tuition scholarship right before decision day. The other, Georgetown, gave an excuse for a trip to Washington DC, and it was a very nice school so I figured why not (and again, more interview experience). The other interviews I had, I canceled.

Thank you so much once again! I went ahead and withdrew from my upcoming interviews. I am 99% sure I wouldn't have chosen them over my hometown state school....it was that much harder because looking back to last cycle, I know I would've given an arm and a leg to receive these invites!

Hey, you are in. Enjoy the next half year of freedom before you get in, and forget about last cycle! What-if's will only make you unhappy; the reality is you are going to be attending your top choice. Congrats!
