any recommended summer programs?

I want to do somethign meaningful with my summer. Last summer I roadtripped the entire summer with some friends. This time I want to do somethign which will give me meaningful experience in the medical field. Do any of you have any summer internships or programs that you can recommend, or places to find these things. I was looking at doing a reserach internship as well, but thats a story for a different day. Thanks all!

It's a little late to just now be thinking about summer opportunities.

In undergrad, I did a research internship with the U.S. Dept. of Energy. I was at Argonne National Laboratory, just outside of Chicago. Great program. My project involved medical battery material development. http://www.scied.science.doe.gov/SciEd/erulf/about.html

The official deadline was Feb. 1, but they take applications through April 1 (but there's no guarantee they will be read)

I'd like to second the ERULF program through the Dept of Energy at ANL. It was great research experience and was helpful when I applied to med school (even though my project had nothing to do with medicine).
