Just wondering if anyone here was trying their hand at applying this cycle while also taking classes this fall. If so, what are your stats now and how are you feeling? What schools? I was considering it, but I still need to take the DAT.

Yeah, I'm enrolled in a post-bacc, and start classes 9/07. I'm re-taking the DAT on 7/24/07.

My stats:

cGPA: 3.36
sciGPA: 2.9
last DAT: AA 19, TS 19, PAT 15:scared:

I'm really hoping to up my DAT scores (esp PAT, even though it seems impossibly difficult for some reason), and that the rest of my stats/experiences/extracurriculars will be ok. I'm starting to panic and lose hope though based on other people's stats🙁

Anyway, good luck to us all!

wow i have the exact same DAT scores as you!!! i took mine last summer though...my scGPA is a 2.8 as is my cumulative...and my MS GPA is a 3.7...however i am enrolled in Barry's 1 yr MBS progam- i applied last year to NYU and got waitlisted...i hope i get in this year w/o all the damn competition...

I am reapplying this year as well and taking informal post-bac courses. I was waitlisted at Creighton last year and really hope to get in there this year. My stats are cGPA 3.2, sGPA 2.97, 20AA/20TS/20PAT.

I'm giving it a shot too...I graduated with a civil engineering degree in 2001 at a 2.7 gpa but in the last year I took about 45 post-bacc units of mostly bio and chem with a 3.97 (B+ in ochem 2). Hoping my recent performance overshadows my 2.999999999..... cum. gpa. There isn't much I can do about it after almost 200 credit hours! My Dat was AA 22, TS 22, PAT 21 this April.

im giving it a shot even thought i have no clue if i ever get in in my lifetime. ill graduate with a BA spring 08, applying this cycle.

have a 2.99 and will be taking DAT next month. i know there are MONSTERS with 4.2's and 28's out there but darn it man, i just want in

What is the Barry 1 year program MBS?

Feeling like I'm flushing money down the drain...
graduated with BS in chem with c2.99, sci2.97, 22/21/23

not taking post bacc tho... I need to keep making money.

yes, good luck to all of us. We need it.

hey its a 1 yr accelerated science program designed for med/dent students to take upper level science courses to boost their GPA. The curriculum mimicks that of med/dent school (not exactly obv) but you would be taking a lot of hrs per semester to see if you can handle the rigorous science curriculum as that given in professional schools.

I decided against taking more classes because I got my sci GPA above a 3.0 (finally with much work 🙂) and I have so many credits it's going to take a lot to get all my GPA's up much higher. My last 46 hours was a 4.0 though if that counts for anything (hopefully). I decided (and was told) it was more worth my time getting some dental experience.

This is a word of encouragement to those out there like me.
Graduated with 2.97 GPA, DAT: 19, PAT: 17.

My BS was in computer engineer, minor: computer science and took a "few" natural science classes. 3rd year, found out I Could not stand it, but needed to graduate in 4 years.

I didnt get admitted 2x, then I went back to a local school, got 4.0 for a year (27 all science cred)...if only I'd known from the beginning that natural science was my thing.

Just admitted to VCU!!

I was told I'd have a very little chance of ever getting in, with a non-natural science degree.
Goes to show what a little reinvention can do...You want to show motivation and determination. I think the specific post-bac school you go to does not matter as much.

Post-Bac GPA is important however.

Good luck! I feel I was blessed with such a miracle!
