Hey everyone,

I realize that many individuals who visit and use this forum are students like myself, but I am wondering if the individuals out there who are in private practice, or know a good deal about setting up an efficient/lucrative practice, could share some tips or info about how to do so.

Is it more lucrative to get into a small group practice? Or is it better to be in complete private practice by yourself?

How expensive is setting up your own practice? (ie: renting an office, etc)
Is it more lucrative for me to set up my own practice and then hire more psychologists as the practice gets busier?

Personally, I would like to start my own practice because I want the flexibility to set my own hours and such in order to do consulting work as well. What do you think, is setting up my own private practice and consulting as well going to be the best way to go?

Thanks for your help

I'm not yet at that stage but I picked up an interesting book at SRCD recently called the Portable Mentor by Prinstein & Patterson that has chapters on setting up a private practice....
