Should I take two additional science courses this summer/fall in order to raise my BCPM from 3.34 to 3.41? (i.e. are those extra .07 grade points worth the $1,000+ and study time?) Any thoughts? I am applying for 2005. (MCAT: 35R, top 5 liberal arts college, bio major, non-trad)

I would spend the time working/ volunteering closely with a reputable physician who can write you a killer LOR. Your 35 explains enough about your academic ability.

I don't think it would be worth it for that small increase (unless you're really interested in the classes you're thinking of taking.) Since you're non-trad, do you feel the need to demonstrate through recent coursework that you can be successful in the classroom? If these classes are grad level, they might help you in that respect. You have a good MCAT; was your overall GPA better than your science GPA? Were you thinking that you would take the classes and then send updated transcripts to the schools you applied to? I guess it couldn't hurt, but IMO it probably won't make that much of a difference since you've already applied or will be applying really soon.

I've taken 4 recent science courses (As in all), so taking additional classes would be purely for gpa-raising purposes, not to demonstrate current academic ability. I suppose by the time any new grades are processed by AMCAS, many schools already will have considered my stats. Unfortunately, I was not as focused in undergrad as I am today. Same old story. Thanks for responding.
