Hi. I will be taking calculus this summer and physics next year. In HS, I did poorly in both. For calculus, I used to do the homework problems but ended up memorizing steps/sequences/procedures. Does any one have any tips on how to study for these 2 courses, especially calculus? I'm hoping for A+ in both! Thanks! 🙂

There's absolutely NO SHORTCUT on Calculus. You have to do every problem you get and at least attempt the crazy challenge problems. It definitely helps, should you have time, to contact the professor before and get the syllabus. Some professors go completely out of order with Calc. You definitely need to cover a few chapters in advance and thoroughly before the session starts. Same with Physics. At least with that, you have time, but with Calc, it's really crucial to get some help and do the everything the hard way. There are certain tips and tricks and shortcuts, but the problem is you can get one of an infinite number of combinations on the exams, and if you're not learning cognitively, you're not going to make it. The course is based on you learning and teaching yourself, not getting someone to teach you.
