I have two other acceptance but Carver seems to be the best. the only problem was that it feels a bit awkward being the only minority there during my interview and while touring the school I only saw one other.😕

final pool here...not expecting much but you never know I guess.

It was pretty awkward and it seemed like everyone on my interview day was from Iowa or further midwest.

Congrats to you two!

yeah...i only remember one other applicant during my interview...a girl from McGill...but other than that, a lot were from the midwest. my student host was from my homestate (where the sun shines lol) so that was comforting and i was able to meet some of the other minorities there. however, i'm pretty comfortable with being one of a few minorities so it doesn't bother me much..

I'm URM too, I've 80% sure I'll end up there. Honestly I very comfortable being the only member of my race in a class, after 7yrs of practice :laugh:. Honestly, most of the time I even forget that I'm unique, but it sucks bcos the Prof notices ur absence quite readily..

Anyhoo I'm really looking forward to more URMs at Carver, it really is a first rate school even by the rankings, it's highly underrated and unexposed. Furthermore they really do care about there students, this is the only school I interviewed @ where they have travel subsidies, just very thoughtful of them...

man, i feel you on that one.

Really!?! There were like 2 others during my interview. 1 from midwest, 1 from Cali. I think, statistically, there were 24 minorities out of a class of 150; but I wonder how many were URM?....😳 Lol! In any case, that just makes the bonds CLOSER!! It'll be FUN, I'm sure!🙂

Yes...that is definitely true:laugh:

I think last year's class was about 8 or 9% URM total...

I agree about how they really seem to care about their students. I never sent in the travel stipend thing (very stupid of me)👎

Hey, I just want to congratulate you guys and gals. It is nice to see more URMs going into medicine. 🙂

U still have time, the deadline is 4/1/10, I forgot about it but sent it last Sunday. DO IT!!

I interviewed back in Jan and was rejected a couple of weeks ago. I was really impressed by the facilities and the opportunities that they have for their students but a high temperature of -5 F that day made it much less appealing.

This is the first school where I got accepted, and it looks increasingly more likely that it's the school I'll choose on May 15th.

I am reapplying this coming cycle and thinking about applying here...it's good to see enthusiasm for this school from URMs 🙂
