So i suppose its a bit of an odd question but I was rejected from my state school (SUNY) and wondering if its possible to ask them to reconsider. I have pretty high stats and they rejected me because they thought my interview answers were superficial.

GPA - 3.76, degree in ACS Chemistry
OAT: Total Sci-390
Avg-370

Great stats! Believe it or not, but one of my friends had a 4.0 which I thought was unbelievably amazing and she got rejected from SUNY too.

What, if you don't mind, were your answers? How did they communicate to you the reason for your rejection? Mail? Phone? Sounds harsh.

If anything, I'm sure you'll have a chance to reinterview next year.

you got any more details on that?

I believe you can call up dr. johnston and ask to be put on the wait list instead. But that's still a long shot. I'm not surprised that SUNY rejects applicants for their bad interview, regardless of their high stats. They do it quite often.

Hey Golddanboy!

Personally I think if you ask them to reconsider, you are just sounding conceited and basically telling them they do not know what they are doing....
I would advise against it because it might hurt your chances if you choose to reapply next year.

Good luck!

The only way to have them reconsider is to re-apply next year, and give them more money.

that sucks! maybe you can ask dr. j how to make your application stronger and if he tells you that your interview is really what you need to work on, you can do that. did you think your interview went bad?
