"Dear ______ , The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California recently received your results on the April 2005 MCAT from the AAMC. Anybody else think it's a little late in the game for recruiting emails?

Yeah, I was pretty surprised by the late date of the e-mail. I received most of my recruitment e-mails and letters in July and August.

I just got this email now too. Does this mean that they like something about me as an applicant or do they send this to everyone that wrote the MCAT? I did pretty horrible on my MCAT (mid 20s) so I don't even know what their email is for. I didn't apply there since their Avgs were 10-11 in ach section. If you guys tell me that this email is sent out to a selected group then I will totally add it right away...eventhough it is really late in the game it might be worth a shot.

Probably just an attempt to get some more applicants..

I applied and didn't get the email you guys speak of.

I just got the same thing.. and sorry - but I have painfully average numbers, so it sounds like they are just trying to drum up some more secondary app. money.

Sounds like they want more applicants. I sent in a secondary in July and have yet to hear from them. It seems as though they really don't like my application! 🙄

Totally agree with this post.

It's really wired that a SC state school would send me (FL resident) a email like this. I never applied to this school plus I don't have very good MCAT score either...

Sometimes, I cannot imagin how money thirsty some of the medical schools are 👎

yes i just got this e-mail too... and hell no, i aint putting up more money for another rejection! 🙄

sc is not a state school, it is a private here in california.

i just received this email as well. it's very wierd and very late. i'm in iowa- i wonder why they chose who they chose. my mcat was not very high in april, maybe that's what they're basing the emails on.

I think it's to get more secondary money. They probably typed up a rejection for every recruitment invite they sent out. So, nope...I am tired of doing secondaries, giving money and not getting anywhere.

18 secondaries done already- I can't even think of doing another one -even if they are serious- 😱

i agree, this is probably just to rake in a few late bucks for secondary applications. for a second, i thought it was because i actually did well on my MCATs, but if they're sending it to people who scored in the 20's (no offense intended here) then i'm ignoring it.

the keck secondary is also very tedious with 4 essays.

I'm not sending this one in unless they promise a guarenteed admissions.
