Anybody interviewing at UChicago on Tuesday?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
wow! that's very early. Congrats...my first 3 interviews are this October. Didn't apply to U of Chicago, but it's a great program. Good luck and best wishes

That is great news, but it is soo early. The 1st years will not be there until 9/22 and classes don't start until 9/29. But the MSTP students are there, maybe some are doing the lunch with prospectives.

Relax and be yourself, the interviewers are great. Good luck.😀

It seems like U of C is having trouble finding student hosts for interviewees b/c everyone's still gone on vacation. Are you going to live in a hotel?

I'm relatively close to Chicago, so I am gonna fly in in the morning and fly out that evening.

i'll be there on tuesday.
i asked for a student host several weeks ago and didn't hear anything until thursday. looks like i'll have a roof over my head on monday night though. whew!

Hi there,

I'm actually here in Chicago right now for an epidemiology conference, and it's great. The first (and only) time that I'd visited was last February and man, is this city a little different in the warmer months!

Good luck on your interview on Tuesday!

Cheers,
Kirsteen

I will be there on Thursday. Any ideas about cheap and okay hotel/motel near either Midway or U of Chicago? I get in late on Wed night so I do have a rental car reserved but if any of you have done this before and actually rode the bus or cab to a nearby location let me know. The car rental is about $40.00 so if I could get a cab to and from that is about $40.00-50.00 I would prefer that so I do not get lost in Chicagoland.

Hey!!! I'll be there on Thursday as well!

Bumping. Here is the original quote by PR where she said she didn't apply to Uchicago. But somehow, she got in.

How long does it usually take from interview to decision at UChicago??? Also does anyone know of how active their waitlist is??

You can expect a decision within 4-6 weeks. Probably closer to four. Not bad, huh?

Pritzker always goes to the waitlist. I don't know how deep into it they go, but they ALWAYS go to it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info.....I guess all i can do now is wait and keep my fingers crossed....

It took me 8 weeks to get my decisions😕

Wow, they must be really busy. I've sat in on one of the lunch tours, and the group had 12 interviewees. We barely all fit into the conference room.

Good luck with deciding where to go.

Ugh...12 interviewees! What day was that? And how many days per week do they interview?

From what I know, they only interview on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year (The Director of Admission said they used to do it 3 times a week, MWF)

And 12 people in an interview day is standard.

Oh well...I'm waitlisted after like 8-10 weeks.

Here's my theory: Maybe Princeton Rocks' so great that Pritzker broke precendent and offer her acceptance w/o having her to apply nor having to interview her.

BUSTED!
