Ucsf asks for notarised diploma and transcripts.I just wanted to ask all of you who have already applied by now,that will attested copies by the principal of my former dental college from india suffice or is it that notarised copies from here in the U.S. is a must.Please let me know.

Ucsf requires pre-dental original transcripts for IDP applicants also. Does that mean 10th and 12th marksheets? I'm wondering will they return those? I've tried reaching them, but haven't been able to talk in person with anyone concerned. Can you shed some light?

hey i did not know that they needed 11th and 12th transcripts too.You know what, i think it must be for those who have done some other graduation before dentistry,like they do here in the U.S.I don't think they need transcripts of 11th and 12th too,but that is just my opinion.
Somebody please throw some light on this topic.

i called UCSF and asked them about notarised photocopies and they said that the certificates should be notarised photocopies only or we should send original certificates.so either of the 2 will suffice but not anything else.
u can call and ask them too,to make sure.

I am quite sure any notary will do as long a the original stamp is visible.UCSF has the easiest form I have ever filled.

Call up UCSF,ask for Barbara Richardson and talk to her.She is excellant,very receptive and will tell you exactly what is best and practical for you.

I'm tired of calling UCSF and leaving messages.I sent in my application 2 weeks ago and no repsonse from them.Tried calling and emailing to check if they found the application complete...no contact whatsoever!!If they tell me something is missing from my application..i'll blow my top after having applied weel in advance!!

i got it day before and it was by regular mail.didnt recieve any email.dates are from nov 12 through nov 17.i applied long back may be in july .i dont when u had applied but i am positve u wll hear from them for sure.
they said there will be a written exam an amalgam practical test and a personal interview with two of the committee members.
the technical exam will consist of two class 2 amalgam prep. and in whcih one we have to complete pack and carve to finish.all instruments will be furnished .they will allot three hours for the technical exa.the personal interview will be for 30 mins each.
the written exam will have 100+ multiple choice questions.
i hope this will answer most of the questions.i am not attending the interview and this is just for the people who are attending the interviews.
i am directly looking at my interview letter and typing the stuff.
i think it should be same for all.

i think i have answered whatever i could.only question that i didnt answer is what all subjects are included.they mentioned all the part 2 subjects and not any specific topic.
i dont think i have anything more to answer than the stuff given in my interview letter.and i have no idea abt how to prepare for the dexterity test as i am not attending the interview and not planning to attend any of the west coast schools as i already admission in couple of schools.
i hope i have answered most of the question.anything else pls let me know.

Hi guys,
As far as i remember UCSFs test simulates the real part two test paper based. They will give you, 3 book lest, one with questions, one with color pictures and other with case histories and x rays and so on. I think they asked us a lot on FPD if not Prosthodontics. I would suggest u guys to study little more in proshto , compared to others. I request some one else who attended to confirm my post too as it is been long time, i attended the UCSF interview.

I called UCSF 2 days back and they told me that this year they had 300 applications but they r calling 80 for interview for the 24 seats they have...
Most of the interview letters has been sent last week and the remaining will be sent before the end of this week.

i talked to barbara today. she said tht she hasnt received my ndbe score official ones i mean. i really am getting frustrated about this whole situation. a week back when i called her she said she had all my documents ready. and then i also checked with ndbe , they confirmed tht they have sent reports on sept 15. i have no idea wht they r up to. whn i told her this she said , at this point we dont need the official scores and they would review my application. and she said the same thing about 300 applicants and only 80 would be called. apparently thr would be bunch of poeple who be getting the letter by this week, according to her. all we can do is wait

I talked with them today. they said all the letters have been sent out. And some r kept in "waiting list" for interview 🙄 ..they said if there is any who won't be confirming their interview calls and then they start calling people from the "waitlist"..I wonder if that happens 🙄

its so frustrating...I live in bay area and ucsf is my first choice.
I don't know what to do.

I know what i am going to say is a kind of little dissapointing for some. But i felt to tell u cos it might give relieve in other way. I came to know some of my friends who r applyied this year that, UCSF is going to conduct 2 batches of interviews and they might call 2nd batch of students. BUT I GOT INFORMATION FROM MY FRIENDS IN UCSF THAT THEY ARE CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS ONLY ONCE AND THEY HAVE ONLY ONE LIST OF INVITEES, UNLESS SOME DROPS FROM ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW, WHERE THEY CALL THE NEXT PERSON IN THE QUE.
