I'm with you. One waitlist = only chance this application cycle. This limbo is too much :scared:

I am part of this group. One waitlist, and have not yet heard back from two post-interview, but at this point I think those are waitlist at the very best.

We have to remember that we each only need one seat! Just one seat, that's all. Good luck, and good thread idea, too.

Right now Im currently on two waitlists, allthough I havent heard back from two other schools hopefully this will be my last message on this board but who knows. BTW I completly understand what you guys are going through, this time last year I was on one unranked waitlist; get ready for from a summer from hell.

Me too! I am on a three waitlists but ranked too low on two of them to have any hope. The third, my state school, is the last viable option at this point 😳 The uncertainty is torture, but I am starting on my PS for the next cycle, just in case! Good luck to all! :luck:

According to my thread, you indicted you are on the Stanford waitlist. Don't assume you are ranked low on that, especially when the list isn't ranked in the first place. Have hope!

Wasn't that a poll? I always vote in polls even if I never applied to the school (and I didn't apply to Stanford). Sorry! 😀

BTW, how can you find out who voted?

Well, I guess I have too many waitlists to qualify for this thread...but I'd still like to join because everytime I think about the prospect of having to apply yet again, my heart does this weird flip-flop thing and I want to run around my room screaming and ringing my hands. 😱

...I've recently learned this is due to sympathetic stimulation caused by the release of CHF in my hypothalamus as a response to perceived stress. However, knowing the biological mechanism for my insanity isn't actually helping me any.

Sorry for the venting.

i assume your taking endo right now tac?

i sympathize with ya, tacrum. every time i think about having to reapply and retake the mcat etc, my heart does the whole flip-flop plus dread thing too.

hmmmm, fergot to add the googly-eye symbol at the end of the thread title...

I'm on 2 waitlists, I know one is a dead end. I just managed to snag a May 16 interview...

:luck: :luck: :luck:

Cool. Where's your interview?

I'm with you guys, harshly rejected from my state school but still have two waitlist spots that could pan out...I guess the new AMCAS is out and we should have it in by June 1st tho just in case...

I'm also holding out with my one waitlist position(UCLA). I've decided to start studying for the August MCAT. I made a beautiful study schedule on excel, but have yet to muster the motivation to dive in. May 15 is only 2 weeks away!!!!

Adding me onto this list. The incessant waiting is killing me...

I'm on two waitlists this year (and I was on two waitlists last year too - guess how they turned out?) 😛

But honestly, I've been told I am in a good enough position for one that I will be in by the end of the summer but it would be nice to get into my state school so I won't have to pay as much and so I can walk to class.

hey all,

i'm joining this thread too. one waitlist, and one that will pretty much be a waitlist. it's hard waiting.....i plan on applying again as well. good luck to you all. i hope more than a few of us get off this thread.

:luck:

thought i'd add myself to the bunch. im on one waitlist and hoping it will somehow turn in my favor and i'll have a school to attend this year. otherwise i guess i should start checking out the re-applicants forum. 🙁

Many of the available spaces are now being held by the same people. Spots will begin to open up. Many schools continue to invite student until the day classes start. Stay in touch with any school you feel you may have a chance. In a few weeks most programs will be looking to fill seats as quickly as possible. Let them know that you would come.
Continue to believe in yourself. Good luck to all

i'm on 4 waitlists....1 i know is dead at my state school, 1 is pretty good, the other 2 i don't know

and NYMC i haven't heard from yet 🙂

waitlisted at 2 In-State schools. both seem to be reasonable chances. playing hardball via email and snail mail is the focus right now. i refuse to think about having to do the AMCAS again.

I'm on 5 waitlists with UIC still deciding. Is it wrong to write letters of interest to all schools you have been wait-listed at?

ill add myself to the list...waitlisted at 2..with a decent chance at one...and waiting to hear from 4 schools..2 are canadian and they dont have rolling admissions..so the replies come out may 15th :scared:

No, it's absolutely the right thing to do. Good luck!

This is my kinda thread.

I got all my hopes and dreams and clothes drying on one waitlist...SLU. But they won't "disclose" where you are on this waitlist. So, I nailed the coffin shut last week and sent in my LOI.

The only consolation I have at this moment is that if med school doesn't pan out this time around, I got Georgetown SMP, so at least I'll be going somewhere.

I can add the the list...I'm on the waitlist at two schools right now...but trying to prepare myself for the worst...re-application 🙁

good to hear there are a group of people here on sdn still holding on to hope!
we should hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

hope somebody from here gets pulled off the waitlist this week :luck:

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS!!!!!!

I am on one waitlist. the waitilst is unranked, so i have no idea where i stand and there are 140 people on the waitlist. My one and only chance for this cycle.

One waitlist shot at my #1 choice and my only allo chance. If not, then I'm off to my #1 osteo choice (and my #2 choice overall).

2 waitlists here

:luck: :luck:

Good luck, waitlisters!!!

I was in your spot two years ago. I got off the waitlist for my state school two days before classes started! Now I'm getting ready to take Step 1. So don't give up, it's early in the game still!!!!! 🙂

Good luck Tiki, now get back to studying.

Maybe PVN-induced release of CRF in the hypothalamus, which induces production and release of ACTH by the pituitary which then signals the adrenal glands to step up the cortisol and epinephrine production?

on three here.. two are from state schools that have almost no movement... so i'm hoping to hear from either the one that i have a chance at or nymc which hasn't given me a response since my interview.

Do you mind disclosing which school that is??
I'm also on a "unranked" waitlist.
Technically, this should be easier than winning the lottery, isn't it?! 🙄

Oh whatever. Close enough for the internet.

Yeah, I know. What kind of jackass is pretentious enough to correct things like that in a forum?

Oh, right...

My bad.

One waitlist for me 😱 I just applied to Georgetown's SMP too, so I just hope I'm going somewhere next year.

1 wait-list, waiting to hear back from two schools post-interview. Good luck everyone! Hopefully we'll all be going somewhere next year.

sounds like a lot of you guys are entering post-bac programs as a back-up plan.
isn't that just going to delay your next app a whole additional year? i was just going to resubmit amcas in june and retake mcat in august...

2 waitlists and waiting back to hear from 3 schools post-interview....
why won't they tell me where my future lies right now?! 😱

I'm planning on doing the same thing... but I'm not sure exactly when this summer I will apply. Are you going to fork over all the $ for the primary even though you may get off a waitlist? 😕

one waitlist and that is my only chance.........
considering that this is my second time applying the feeling is not good....

Have you found your life distasteful?
My life did, and does, smack sweet.
Was your youth of pleasure wasteful?
Mine I saved and hold complete.
Do your joys with age diminish?
When mine fail me, I’ll complain.

My sun sets to rise again.

You guys I am going crazy! I now have all my LOI's written and ready to go out tomorrow. I wish I knew about them earlier, but oh well. 5 wait lists and 1 undecided...this is so much worse than waiting for MCAT scores. At least if I have to reapply again this year I have learned a lot about the application process.
