Anyone applying to 30+ school?? I was thinking about apppl to 30.. ~$2200 tha'ts how desperate i want to get into D-School. Then some schools require fees and then DAT scores 25/school.. that'll round i up to $5k . whatt!!!!!!!!! I might need to reallllllly think about it.!

That seems pretty crazy and not to mention expensive, unless you need to make up for other less than stellar aspects of your application. I just did a search on predents for people applying in the 2010 cycle and I saw that about 5 people of the 160+ search results applied to 30+ schools...its definitely not a common thing to do. What are your stats?

DAMN that is a lot, I thought I was applying to a lot (20 schools). Make sure you research your schools. I wouldn't want you to throw away money at schools that don't accept many OOS.

Is your mommy paying for this?

low stats. (not proud enough to type it here).
i am paying for my own application, mann!!..those are my hard work savings too, ouch!!

You gotta pick your spots. If your stats are that low, there is prolly only like 5-10 schools that would even consider you. Its pretty easy to tell which ones would. I have low stats, its what I did, and I got in. I only applied to 8 schools. 30 would be a disgusting waste of money.

Low stats doesnt necessarily mean the same thing for everyone. OP could have a 3.0 while another person could have a 3.3 and consider it low. But OP you got to pick and choose where yo uare applying. I would hit up the private schools and stay away from the public schools. Then there are some public schools that are almost 50-50 or 60-40 in terms of letting in OOS. Just pick and choose wisely, I wouldn't want you to waste money that you worked hard for.

I had low stats for last cycle too and most ppl said I didnt have a shot... I had a 3.03 18/19/21... I applied to 35 schools, it is very expensive but for me it was worth it. Btw I met a few people in my class who got in with even lower GPAs then me... Good luck to you, applying to more schools might help increase your chances but it's no guarantee...

Did you graduate from UW-Madison? I am just curious cuz i know a lot of ppl in my college would like to go to Marquette...I am throwing out..

I am applying after 2 yrs and i was planning on applying to 22 schools, but i think 22 schools are too much for me even though i have a lot of money.. I am gonna reduce my choice as time goes on..

I think applying to 30+ would be pretty amazing, but it is also very time-consuming.. and there are about 25 schools who accept out of staters/international students so that applying to 30+ including D-schools that only accept 1 or 2 Out of staters/International students..

Which 30 schools are you planning on applying to? Why not narrow down your list to schools that are more apt to accept you?

all except 20 schools that do not/rarely take out of state students and those schools that required high stats such as harvard,columbia....etc.

I would be one of those individuals 😀

What I had done was peruse predents and chose schools that had avg stats and avg seats for out of staters (really wish MA had a state school). I applied to 20 schools was only interested in about 5-10 of those schools the rest were basically a shot in the dark.

Like the OP I was VERY worried about my chances I don't find his/her logic completely unreasonable. The key is you need to do A LOT of research. I literally had all of the schools of interest's contact info, app fees (and if they were needed with or after the primary app) and the total resulted in a couple grand. Definitely take your time on this!

My 02 cents 😎

No I'm out of state as are all the others that I know in my class who had even lower GPAs then mine... It is much more competitive for those 40 in state seats...

I interviewed at Columbia (3.03gpa & 18/19/21 DAT).

You have to remember your ~$2200 is just for AADSAS, then you tack on the extra 50-75 dollars for each of the schools secondaries and you'll almost pay that $2200 over again in just secondaries. Thirty schools seems a little over the top, but if that's what you feel you need to do then go for it.

You got interviews b/c ur URM... getting accepted was b/c of how well u present yourself at ur interviews.
