Anyone applying to PCOM from a school with no real pre-med advisors?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm very interested in PCOM, but since the advisor letter is required, I'm not sure what my options are...

I emailed my advisor/premed advisor and she refused to give me a letter stating that 2 sci profs will suffice as long as the letterhead says ur uni and it comes from the career services thankfully my schools career services Is partnered with interfolio so it appears on the documents I sent. They marked me complete and haven't said a word so I am sure I'm fine

See if your school provides a Dean's letter (aka letter of good standing). It doesn't include much info but should still qualify. Make sure somewhere along the way it does mention "Dean" in there though, in case PCOM gives you any issues.

Yes I know....hoop.....jump through. 🙄

This may sound simple but apparently it isn't given how often questions like this come up:

Call PCOM and ask! They have people who's full-time job is to answer questions and help applicants with questions just like this.

Why anyone would trust something this school-specific to a group of strangers online is beyond me when a single 5min phone call will get you the answer from the only place that will stand behind what they tell you.

I did call, twice actually, and I know the letter requirement. I am just asking people if there is a way around this letter, or if there is someone they talked to at their institutions that was able to help.

Why anyone would take the time to write a whole paragraph that doesn't answer the main question asked is beyond me, when all this person needs to do is disregard this question and move on to answer questions he knows the answers to.

So this has been answered before, quite a few times actually.. even in this very thread. Get a Dean's letter. Call your undergraduate institution, and see what they can do for you. My school has a Dean of Student Affairs and I just had to pay $10 for them to send a letter to PCOM stating that I was in good academic standing my whole 4 years. I guess this was enough for PCOM because I got a "Complete" email from them a week or so later.

When I had applied to them, they said to just use the Letter Service from the school. You should go ahead and give them a call just in case things have changed this year.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The office of student affairs does indeed send the letters. I am not sure if the Dean's name is on the letter, but hopefully this will satisfy the requirement.

Thanks for the help again!
