I'm trying not to call the admissions office yet (don't want to add the word "harassment" to my list of inadequacies) but am curious if anyone called today for their application/interview status. I believe I heard that the group who interviewed last week would be evaluated and 'sentenced' by the adcom yesterday? I'm curious to know if anyone found out anything! Thanks! 😀

I contacted admissions today and they said the committee did meet yesterday, but has not finalized the acceptance list yet...guess we'll find out next week sometime

I also called today and they said the same thing... They were waiting for something from a doc I've not heard of before and they will have the decision by monday or tuesday of next week... so that means its your turn to call and report back, next week 🙂 but they were really nice about my calling... so don't stress calling, too much 😉

Cheers...

and good luck.

awwwww bummer! You work up the courage to call and then they have no information for you :scared:

Good luck for next week:luck:

Thanks all! And, you're right, it's my turn to call next. I'll contact them on Monday and let you know what I find out. I appreciate all the feedback

😀 Good luck to all of you!

So who is going to be the first to call today?

Does anyone know how full the class is already at AZCOM and when they make the final decisions for the year?

I'm so stoked to find out... I hope its good news... I really liked the school.
So I don't care -- I'll call again. 🙂

Not till this afternoon though because they said they'll know today or tomorrow... I'll split the difference.

Good luck!!!

Same to you!! I won't be able to call until after work anyway so at about 2pm AZ time. Let me know if you find out something before then.

Interesting...I just called too and got waitlisted, so hopefully they give the acceptances tomorrow. Goodluck.

Mr. MDO,

Congrats on the waitlist! I'm not sure about official #s but I've known quite a few people personally who matriculated from the waitlist! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks for the support. I am now waitlisted there and at PCOM, so hopefully one of them can use me eventually, haha.

There are a total of 150 seats and deposits are in for 110 of them.

That's not bad at all. I have heard from quite a few people that they paid the deposit (it's only $200) just to hold their spot even though they have put deposits in at other schools too. I'm sure a few of those will probably drop out. I'm also pretty sure that the last batch of interviews that were held at AZCOM is it for a while. Is this correct?

If it is, that means there are approx. 40+ seats available for those who interviewed a few weeks ago. I admit that math was never my strongest subject so feel free to object, but I think that doesn't sound to shabby, right?

Waitlisted too...I will wait for them

Tuition: $38,908
Supplemental Application Fee: $50
Deposit: $1000
Other Fees: $275 (Student Services Fee)

This is from the AACOM website for AZCOM:
According to this deposit is 1k.
But there are Aprox. 40 seats left and interviews are scheduled until the last week of April.
Any other Q's?

My apologies...what I meant to say is that AZCOM's deposit can be paid in installments (according to others on SDN who have paid the deposit for next year). The first payment was small (I believe $250) but ultimately the complete deposit is $1000.

Good luck to everyone who is awaiting a response from the adcom or who are waitlisted. I'll be attending AZCOM this fall so hopefully i'll get to meet you guys. Just to give you some info about the deposit, I was accepted back in August and I submitted my last payment in early March. It's probrably skewed for applicants who are accepted after this deadline but I think for the most part, March 16 was the deadline for the last deposit for people accepted early on. Good luck again to everyone.

THanks for the info, that means there are probably a few more spots open!

Hey, for those waitlisted, does your status show up on Interact Now? Is it the same for those accepted/rejected?

Thanks!

When I interviewed I believe they said it would not change if you were waitlisted or rejected. You will just receive a letter in the mail. The only thing that would change your interact is an acceptance.

I just called and got waitlisted too...the waiting continues! 🙂 Good luck everyone!

I called today. They said I was accepted.

My interact still says 'Pending' (waiting for my secondary) though.

Good luck to everyone!

Buuuummmmer -- waitlisted.

I hope others have a brighter response from the admis office.

Cheers.

Congratulations, buff! And to the waitlisters - don't give up hope, the deposit is fairly manageable compared to other schools' and people are making their final decisions soon, so I'm sure there will be some good waitlist movement.

Any "Interact Now" changes might take a while to show up - it should be called "Interact...in a Few Weeks."

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear and congrats for those accepted!

Ahh to be in your shoes again. I'm in the 2010 class. Thought I would get on here and see what the nerves of pre-meds were working up today. I know how it felt in your shoes. Just take it easy and be patient. And if you don't get in this year, try try again. I could probably answer some other questions but I can't guarantee how much time I'll have, I'll do my best. As for the waitlist, I have no idea how it works. I thought I did, then hearing from other students it sounds like anybody could be right about how many people get off the list. It really just depends on deposits and how many people want to go to AZCOM as their top choice. Good luck everybody.

Just for my own information, does anyone know if AZCOM is interviewing in April? People seemed to have assumed that they are, because they must have in previous years, but I have not seen a post about it.

Actually wondering because I do not want more people on the waitlist...lol always the alterior movites...

When I spoke to the asst. admissions director she said they had one more crop of interviews in April but that they would be finished interviewing April 16th. Not sure how many people are going to be in that group seeing that my group was less than full (interviewed mid-March) but it's possible that those interviewing aren't SDNers (gasp!) and therefore not posting to this site. I know, it's their loss, huh? 😱

Ok, I suppose one more crop of interviewees is allowed. haha

Going to send out my letter of intent soon, and will be waiting the good wait.

I interview April 19th, so it looks like the information you got was inaccurate.

I interviewed on the 9th at AZCOM, and found out that I was waitlisted also. I called prior to the interview (to see if it was worth my money to go) and found out that they had about 1/4 of the class left to fill. The day of my interview, I called when I got back to my hotel to ask how many slots were left in the class. They said 30 -- the lady who answered the phone went and checked, so I'm sure this was accurate. When I found out I had been waitlisted, I asked how many slots were available and she said about 1/4 (which is about 30, they have 125 seats in the class) of the class was still left to fill. I'm thinking that they aren't filling any more slots until they are finished interviewing. I suppose it isn't fair to those interviewing in April to spend time and money interviewing for a class that's already full. Obviously, a few people have been accepted, but I tend to think they're holding off on a lot of acceptances. Am I way off here?

I read on a different thread that there is a difference between a waitlist and an alternate list. Does anyone know if this is true at AZCOM as well?

To answer the question about how full the class is compared to the # of acceptances, I am pretty sure that is accurate. I think a few acceptances have been given but that the waitlist will start to move in May. I spoke to the asst. admissions director and she sounded VERY optimistic about waitlist movement (then again, she could just be an overly chipper person!). 🙂

I interviewed the 8th and going through the same thing. I think our chances are good so let's just keep our fingers crossed and wait (yes, the dreaded word).

Regarding the questions about waitlist vs. alternate list, I was told there is a difference. The waitlist is for those waiting to be considered for an interview. The alternate list is for those who have interviewed and are waiting on a final decision from the adcom.

Good luck everyone! We're almost there!
