Anyone come off "hold/continue to review" for interview invite

Am anxiously awaiting interview invites...still 🙁 feeling very discouraged and wondering if I should start studying of april mcat to take over. Just wondering what others' experiences were with being "on hold" or in the "continue to review" status? Any interview invites after receiving that notification? How long after from the initial notification to the final notification or interview or rejection did you wait?

I'm currently "on hold" at Drexel and"continue to review" at Penn State. Anyone in same boat?
I haven't heard anything at all from Jefferson which is my top choice.
Can anyone tell me by how (email/snail/phone) their interview invites from Drexel, Penn State, Jefferson, NYMC, Tufts, Temple, BU came?

I haven't heard anything from Tufts, Temple, BU, or NYMC.

At this point in the process, is it even possible to still be invited for an interview for an actual spot?

I would appreciate any feedback or advice🙂!

I was in the "continue to review" pile at Loyola from about September to December. I just had an interview there in January! Keep your chin up! I cannot speak specifically for the schools to which you applied as I did not apply to any of those and don't know how they operate, but I am sure you are not doomed yet! 😉

The interview season for almost all of those schools doesn't end until April, I think. (Except for BU, sadly--their last interview day is February 10th or 11th. I got a nice "sorry, no dice" email from them a few weeks ago.) But like I said, it's still very possible that you're in the running at those other schools.

Tufts sends EVERYTHING by snail mail, interestingly, including their interview invites. I never once received an email from them during the application process except to confirm an interview date. I don't think they do anything funny like interviewing specifically for the waitlist--they still have two more major rounds of decisions before they start rejecting/waitlisting in April, I think.

Anyway, good luck! There's still plenty of time for things to work out for you.

I'm in the same boat as you, OP (though not the same schools). Hoping some of those "possible"s turn into real interviews!

Hope this helps....here's my experience:

1. NYMC - all communications via email so far. complete Aug, interview 1st week of Nov.....still waiting for decision.

2. Jefferson - Complete August...no word, assume rejection (people on SDN starting to receive rejections via snail mail)

3. Temple - complete August..no word, withdrew in Dec. after acceptance

4. Drexel - complete August, on HOLD since Oct., withdrew

5. MCW - complete August, on "possible interview" pile Sept., interview offer Jan. 6th, declined due to acceptance

Waiting to hear back from 2 interviews. I think there is still plenty of time to get invites. 2 years ago I had a friend who took Aug. MCATS, scored a 28, finished applications by 1st week of Nov., 3 interview offers in Jan., 1st interview in middle Feb., accepted a week later!

It does happen....keep your head up...it's not over until the April (for interviews that is).

i'm in the same situation (28 mcat) with no interviews so far at m.d. schools. i've applied to many of the same schools as you (drexel, jeff, temple, penn state, nymc, gw, umdnj), and also been told i'm either on hold or under review. good luck to you.

Hi all,

I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm in the same boat...I've applied to most of the schools you guys did drexel, jeff, temple, penn state, nymc, gw, umdnj and since I'm a NY resident all the SUNY schools...I've had 2 interviews so far...NYMC and SUNY Buffalo...I kinda have a feeling that I will be waitlisted or rejected from both...and I haven't heard from any of the other schools...my MCAT scores are not that strong (27Q) but my extracurriculars and GPA are excellent...I'm just exhausted both mentally and physically by this whole admissions process...I'm not sure if I'll be able to put myself through this process all over again...sigh! Are any of you planning on taking the April MCATs...just wondering b/c I'm planning to take them?

I was totally complete at Northwestern on 8/8 and didn't hear a peep from them until 12/25. It can take a long time for those interview invites to come along, but don't give up hope yet!

Last year I was on hold at EVMS. They told me they'd review my application come February.

I got an Interview invite Feb 1.
