This may sound strange but is anyone curious to find out why they were accepted to a particular school? I would like to see if I could get a review of my application to find out what the key points were. Do you think they would provide information like this, kind-of like to opposite of a post-mortem ?

Might come of a bit too much like "Tell me why im so hot". I'd leave well enough alone. Don't want them to say "Huhh, we didn't notice a C in O-Chem... hmm, wait right here while I talk to the dean..."

I understand that desire...I'm most curious about the comments my interviewers wrote down. I got waitlisted at two schools (one of which I then got accepted to), and got very different vibes at the two interviews. I'd like to know what they each though of me in person. I'm too much of a chicken to ask though.

Yea, I guess you are right. I am just curious to see what some schools liked compared to the other schools that I got turned down from. Better just leave well enough alone.

I absolutely had the same thoughts last year. I'd still be curious to know (because who wouldn't) but I agree with just being happy to be accepted, etc. 🙂

I didn't ask...but i met with the director for the vet prep program and i was like "i'm just soooooooo surprised that i got in. i got rejected my all the other schools, i was SHOCKED". i told her how i didnt like my gre score, how i tried so hard at cal poly but my overall gpa was still too low.

then the director was like "it was everything, we looked at everything you've done and we wanted you for our vet school, but we think you'd benefit in our program before starting vet school"

imagine how i felt!!! i was on cloud 9....for real. and the CHANCES of getting into the program....i still cant believe its true

Yep, I think it's totally normal to wonder why some schools want us and others don't. We really put our hearts into the application and it'd be really nice to have some feedback. But with the veil of secrecy around the adcoms, I guess it's just not meant to be. To be a fly on the wall at their underground meetings.. remains a fantasy.

It's not a fantasy. One or two students I think from each class are on the admissions board at tufts. So if you are interested I would apply for those positions.

I am glad I am not the only one who is curious, after making the post I was starting to feel a little vain!

i would definitely be curious, but would never ask. 🙂 too bad you don't receive a feedback/evaluation form from each school (this is just theoretically speaking, of course). 😉

To give a more serious reply, I have not gone through apps yet but if I get in anywhere I'll sure be wondering what they were thinking! 🙂

Honestly, I believe that the process is to check the apps for a cut off, print those out which surpass the cutt off point, and randomly throw darts at them for the acceptees...or throw the print outs in the air and those which land face up are accepted...:meanie:
