Hey everyone,

Anyone do the Cincinnati SMP? If so, how was it and was it extremely difficult to get the required GPA to get accepted to their med school or any med school? Would you recommend it and what GPA did you need to maintain? Thank you all for your advice and insight!!!!! 🙂

I am a current student, and I would strongly recommend it. I'm not sure what you mean by, "what gpa do you need to maintain?" Are you wondering what the minimum gpa to graduate from the program is, or what gpa do those accepted to UC med usually maintain? For the latter question, it really depends on a host of factors, including undergrad gpa, MCAT, EC's, etc. For me personally, I had a 3.0 undergrad gpa, so I felt that I needed to do a little better than if I would have had a 3.3 or something.

The program, like most SMPs, is a challenge, but I believe that if you put in the time you will be rewarded with a high grade. I know for UC med, they really stress that they want to see the MS students beat the medical student average. For other medical schools, I have heard that they just want to see some minimum gpa.
