Hey all,

Before I start med school, I would love to do some sort of an immersion program in Cuba (just to learn more about the culture, practice Spanish, and have fun). I don't plan on volunteering anywhere. I was wondering if any of you have done an immersion program in Cuba and would be able to give me some feedback about it. I've googled it, but there are so many programs out there and it's hard to know what to trust.

I'd appreciate any info you may have.

Thanks!

I went to Cuba last September through my University. We used a cultural exchange program to get us the licenses. Unfortunately, because of new Bush administration policies, that program is no longer running. However, I highly recommend that you go, even though it is really expensive. It is amazing how good their healthcare system is with the limited resources they have. If you do plan to go, PM me and I can give you some tips, etc to keep costs down.
