Hey,

So I was wondering...will Marquette be contacting applicants for 2nd round offers today, or should we expect them to notify us in the coming weeks as they solidify the number of spaces they have to fill?

Thanks!

They said on their website today is the POSTMARK date for deposits, so they'll be making some decisions next week. I think they said the earliest they'd probably give out second round acceptances is Jan. 25th. Good luck!

Yeah Im waiting but not really expecting much....Im guessing 1 or 2 instate residents declined and thats tops! Ahhh well!

any insight on OOS? im slowly losing hope...🙁

waiting on an interview invite, but my Academic Update just got sent today to the schools (1/15). I am hopeful, since avg GPA is 3.57/3.47 and avg DAT is 18/19 according to...

also they seem to accept 50% OOS:xf:

honestly if you haven't been interviewed yet, I would say your chances are very very slim at this point. Marquette rarely interviews post dec 1st and although those are their average stats, there are a bunch of people who have way better stats then that that already interviewed.

Hey,

So I was emailed yesterday from Jennifer. It looks like they have all the deposits to fill their class at this point in time.

But I would be hopeful because people do walk away from their deposits. She said that they would be creating an alternate pool from which they will fill the remainder of their class if and when those spots open up. And this list will be generated in a few weeks.

Best of luck to everyone!

I dont know how thats exactly possible because I just got off the phone with Jennifer and she said they dont have a full class but they are doing it a little differently this year. They are creating an alternate pool and if you are still interested you will have to write a $1000 check but they wont cash it until you get accepted. She said it will be about another 3 weeks until they officially hand out any second round offers to fill the remaining seats. There are oos and instate seats still available, this I know for sure. Also, they will be sending out denial letters in the upcoming week or so. So your envelope in the mail could be a denial or a request to be placed on the alternate pool. Good luck everyone.

i am pretty sure that they did that last year as well, the $1000 thing. my buddy is going there and i had him check with the admissions department for me the other day, and as of last week, they had all their out of state spots filled and were waiting on a couple in state. for the most part it sounds like it is full.

I think that's the same as previous years? I wrote a $1000 check last year for a spot on the alternate list, only to have it returned to me in August.

In any event, hoping for some good news.

I am out of state. It sounds like a majority of the class is filled and that they will be sending out spots in the alternate pool during the first week of February. Just to clarify what I said before.

I believe they did that last year after every deposit was received. This year they are doing this before they send out second round offers. That way they send out second round offers to people who are really serious. Slight difference to last year....

either way it sounds like they are full except for the few in state that arent filled. yeah there is a small chance someone might walk away from their deposit, but i for one am not holding my breath.

Any new news out of Marquette? I am somewhat perplexed because I spoke with Brian and he said they would be making some offers last week.

Got my rejection letter on Saturday via snail mail. Guess they're done.

I'm still waiting to hear from them..... still got my fingers crossed and I'm not giving up on it.

Does anyone know if there are any OOS spots left? I have had a hard time getting in touch with anyone with my work schedule

as i mentioned earlier, i had a friend who is currently attending there ask the admissions department and they have all their out of state spots filled. someone could walk away from their deposit, but its doubtful.

I just received a letter in the mail today indicating that I am indeed on a "wait list." And asking if I'd like to make a deposit anyway in case a spot opens. So I'm guessing if you haven't heard anything you're pretty much f'd.

FYI: I'm instate.

Just got my alternate pool letter too... instate also... there's still hope!

How many people are typically taken from th alternative list and do they tell the students their rank on the altern list?

My understanding is very few from out of state and even fewer from in state... that said, things do happen. I know numerous people that got into Marquette after being on hold and/or waitlisted.

Thx, Kapman. But my questions was how many people are typically in the alternate list pool...25,50,100?

Got mine today as well. It says about 100.

It was a tough decision but I officially withdrew from Marquette today. Loved the admissions people, brian and Jennefer were great. The class is really cool too, seems like they are going to be a tight group.

Good luck to whomever is on the alternate list for OOS.
