they can read in a given time frame?

Like last night for example.. i had 3 hrs between my starting point and dinner and 32 pages left to read in my goljan chapter and I'm like oh yeah no problem.

and then its dinner time and i got 7 pages left.. and I always do this!!

In years past, I've run into that problem. What works best for me is pacing myself. Make sure after every hour you've gotten done the respective fraction you wanted to get done overall(1/3 of the pages in this case), it helps to pace yourself every half hour at first so you can make sure you're keeping on track, if you cant keep up the pace you've set out for yourself or you dont want to then readjust. That helped my mind from wandering too since I'd better account for efficiency every minute.

yeah this happens to me all the time and I pretty much do what illixir said and time myself and check my progress every 15-30 minutes. Otherwise I'm like hmm maybe I should play some iphone games for a little bit and then 30 minutes later I'm like wow what happened to all that time I thought I had

I started reading as though i was studying for Step 1 a long time ago precisely so I wouldn't screw myself that way.

me too!

Today (but not tomorrow since im moving) I start Renal, which is the last theme I have not done.. and then I will have done every single topic once and I'm not taking the exam until july 2.

after Renal I plan to plunge back into micro and pharm since I've been getting those questions wrong again after I thought I had ironed everything out again.
