Anyone else feel their Harvard interview went badly?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hi, my harvard one was ok, but my one of my yale one's was like that... and it wasn't just my imagination either because i interviewed at like 10 schools and they were all fine and everyone was really nice and conversational, but one of the yale ones confronted nearly everything i said with a new situation and said that sometimes people who are interested in alot of health policy (which I am) shouldn't be doctors, they should choose another career, like doctors shouldn't be concerned about anything other than just symptoms and meds or something.... you never know the type of interviewer you're gonna get...

but don't worry about it, it's just the luck of the draw, everyone will have at least one semi-weird experience at the end of the process... 🙂 good luck!

Weird.

My interview at Yale was the best. It was simply amazing.

Harvard went ok ... i think 🙄

luckily both of those schools gave us two interviews during the day... so that made me feel better, because even though the yale faculty member was a little intense, the student was really sweet and so in the end i didn't worry too much... as long as we all get in somewhere i'm happy!

For real. I wouldn't go to an interview at Yale at night...unless I was wearing Kevlar body armor.

Seriously, though, Priscy: You would go to Yale over NU and UChicago?

yeah, I felt the same way about Yale... I was glad to have the student because the faculty member and I didn't seem to connect. But the student was great, at least.

On the other hand, I actually had my best interview at Harvard ... I think this really just shows how much chance is really involved beyond some point, who you get paired with for an interview is so arbitrary, and there are people at every school with whom you could have terrific interviews and people with whom you could have terrible interviews. luck of the draw, I guess, although I would rather have had my great interview at Yale...

hi ewing and hale bopp...

i totally agree that it's luck of the draw, that's what i said a little while ago, sometimes they're great, and sometimes they're just weird, so i think in the end it evens out for everyone 🙂

and i'm not sure where i'd go to ewing... i already denied the acceptance offer at uchicago and uc irvine, they're great schools but i don't see myself at them for some reason.... but i'm gonna hold my norwthwestern one until i find out about ucsf, which i hope is soon!!!!!!! but you're right, yale isn't my favorite one so it didn't really matter to me that the guy was so intense... either way i'm grateful that i can go somewhere, that's all that really matters to me! good luck all!!
