That would be cool. Dancer in the Dark is probably my favorite movie, and its the same director/writer dude I believe.

I'd be up for it. Where's it playing? Opera Plaza? Embarcadero? I think it was only on one place last I looked. Let me check... I have to run out the door to a boring meeting in a minute.

Okay, it's at Opera Plaza at 6:30 pm on weekdays. I dunno about weekends. Here's the little blurb about it:

Drama
2 hrs. 57 min. The beautiful fugitive, Grace, arrives in the isolated township of Dogville on the run from a team of gangsters. With some encouragement from Tom, the self-appointed town spokesman, the little community agrees to hide her and in return, Grace agrees to work for them. However, when a search sets in, the people of Dogville demand a better deal in exchange for the risk of harboring poor Grace and she learns the hard way that in this town, goodness is relative. But Grace has a secret and it is a dangerous one--so Dogville may regret it ever began to bare its sharpened teeth.

Now I've need to run to my meeting. Hopefully, this thread will be alive after lunch 🙂

Yes I'm going to be tanning and swimming and vacationing in the lovely central San Joaquin valley with my Grandmother visiting from Michigan. Oh joy!

Hey Brick,

Are you talking about the squirrels at UCLA when you say "knee deep in squirrels?" Those things are obese! I remember when I first went there I couldn't believe how ginormous those squirrels were. And when I came back to nor cal to visit it made the nor cal squirrels look sickly. I remember this one time when my boyfriend and I were eating at the Taco Bell I threw a piece a candy from that candy shop to a squirrel (I know this sounds like a stupid thing to do)--I used to go to that candy shop ALL of the time, memories! Oh and the boba place was soooo good. THe boba place by my work in SF sucks! Anyways, the squirrel ate the candy but then started choking. I was terrified. He was grabbing his chest and making this hacking motion. I was like, "please squirrel don't die!" I was horrified that I might have killed him. But after a couple of moments, he coughed up the candy and I was soooo relieved. Anywho, just thought that I would share 🙂

LOL! LMAO! Almost busted a vein in the head! Yeah I know... I'm hella late.

Yahoo movies rocks 🙂

Let's do it one night next week. I'm out of town this weekend too... off to central Illinois to visit some friends... should be interesting. We are spending a day in Chicago so I am very excited about that.

lars von trier... cruelest director since kubrick, from what I've read. Suffering inspires art 😉
If you don't agree, watch Breaking the Waves and Dancer in the Dark, and you will walk away stunned and feeling different about the world

Is there anyone else...IS there anyone else. Sorry I am getting carried away 😎

😍 😍 😍 😍

Brickhouse, so you're into Aussies huh? :meanie:

I'll probably watch Troy sooner or later just for the grand cinematography...that's my attitude when I went to watch the Lord of the Rings movies--I wasn't particularly drawn to fantasy stuff, but the cinematography (and Computer Graphics) certainly was gorgeous.

Is this a quote from Troy or something?

Is like a well-known quote or something?

I suddenly feel like the "questionable admission" character. 😳

Nah, real Aussies are way cool too. I've met several and they were great... laid back, down to earth, know how to have a good time. I'm a big fan of Aussies. 👍

Dude then I'm moving - cuz I've never met an aussie I didn't like, honestly.

I'd have to say the same, though I don't know how well I'd get along with Mel Gibson (guess it's a good thing I've never met him 😉 )

Yeah I guess Mel would be the exception - the whole sexism thing wouldn't go over well with me. I've never even been to Australia. Oh, and I probably wouldn't want to be with Peter Jackson either - it's the hair.
