I am not a new grad. I have about 2 years of experience.
Rural Kentucky is gorgeous.
I got a call yesterday looking for 4 per diem retail pharmacists in the SF bay area, I got an email today looking for pharmacists for Target.
apparently i'm like a goodluck charm or something
5 years ago, this would have been a joke. A residency trained pharmacist bragging about per diem retail positions? Got an email from target?
No offense to you of course. I just find the current job market to be very disappointing.
Honestly, I don't even think they went over your CV. This is what recruiters do. They contact everyone and anyone and go from there.
face it, some of you out there don't know how to job hunt, interview, or network. some of you think you're hot ****
yah...i don't blame them either.
the market looks like this:
new grads = screwed
PGY1/2 grads = where new grads were 4 years ago
current pharmacists > 3 years in practice = depends who you are
face it, some of you out there don't know how to job hunt, interview, or network. some of you think you're hot **** but really the places you are applying to are getting back channel info of how big of an screw up or jerk off you are. some of you play innocent on here, woe is me...the market sucks, new schools suck...but really the problem is your own inability to perform.
and some of you just straight up lie. but it's the internet, whatever. keep this in mind, readers...and remember, delusions can happen on your end, too.

👍 graduated in 2012.. I am currently working for my 3rd employer. I left the other 2 jobs because they were not a good fit. I left on good terms and still maintain contact with my former supervisors.
I get calls from recruiters daily. BUT these are for director of pharmacy or clinical specialist jobs, not for new grads.
Are we going to pretend you have actually looked up this number?
How about the number of the middle shift pharmacists that Walgreens and CVS have cut during the last 4 years?
I haven't done any intense analysis, but CVS and Wags are both definitely hiring in my city. There is a new Wags going in near the home my husband and I are buying.
The whole situation is very frustrating. I have networked, called places, joined organizations to the best of my ability. I have not even found any job openings or gotten any interviews.
My best tech has visible tattoos. Better visible tattoos than a tendency to judge people harshly. 🙂I'm going to say something that might offend a lot of people so if you're reading this post and you get easily offended, stop reading. I would NEVER hire someone with visible tattoos. It's trashy, it's low class, and it's a sign of low intelligence in my honest opinion.
And let me guess. Both of them have contacted you with job offers.

I have a job. Both of them called for interviews but I had already accepted another offer. I know people who were recently hired, though. At Wal-Mart too. And Target is also hiring.
Sure, but those are jobs for retail. Better to be unemployed, wouldn't you agree?
