For some reason, I cannot bring myself to write the essays for Case Western (yet I can come on here to complain about it...if only my boss knew about this!). I've had this secondary sitting here for over a month. Anyone else in the same situation?

yah, I'm sitting on this one too...but mostly b/c I've never done research and my school didnt require a thesis to graduate so I've basically never done any technical scholarly work either...ugh...I really love this school, but I wonder if I even stand a chance 🙁

I putzed around with Albany's 1000 character "Describe yourself" prompt for like 3 weeks because it sucked. But after a tall glass of scotch the other night, my writers block was gone and I eeked out something that didn't make me sound like a generic pompous ass.

Next up: Northwestern (8/28), Upstate (8/29), Columbia(8/29), Rosalind Franklin(9/1), Loyola (9/3)

Still waiting for: Harvard (October...maybe), UCSF(not holding breath) and Creighton(WTF?????)

Bucks dealt out so far:
AMCAS: 850
Cleared payments: 955
outstanding payments: 475
still to go:too much
total money that could have gone to rent:2280

other cool things that cost 2300 dollars: Apple Power Book, first last and security on an $800/month apt, airfare to Hawaii and a hotel, my car insurance, 3 free rounds for a huge bar, 1 season ticket for the Patriots, 23 redsox games, lots of beer, small engagement ring for GF (add in the rest of app fees and travel expenses and it's a pretty huge rock)

I've been waiting on Cincinnati's for a while now, since July 27th actually 😳 . I tried to work on it back then, but the webpage wasn't working right. Think it would still be worth it to submit it?

I've had Maryland's since the first week of August too, but their essays are tough.

I decided not to submit Boston (because I would have no chance), Brown (same reason), UIC because I don't think I've taken enough english classes, plus Rush, Wright state and Wayne state because I'm out of state. I probably won't submit Connecticut's either, as I'm out of state.
See, I can't bring myself to not fill out some of them, because I wonder what would happen if I didn't get in - then I'd wonder if I would've had I filled them out.

Well, I'm just being a little more realistic after last year.

im sitting on FIVE!!!
by the way, all the ppl getting UC secs...do you have to go yourself to check if you have been invited to fill one out??

are you informed via email?
No you don't have to check

UCD - email
UCSD - email
UCSF - email
UCI - email
UCLA - snail mail (but I actually caught wind of the invite by checking the status page before getting the postcard)

I sat on Case for about a month. Then I finally bit the bullet, said 'what the hell', and wrote an essay on how much I love the Yankees. And I got an interview invitation. go figure.

I just approved to do UCSD today, and I'm GUESSING that I'll be sitting on this for a while already 😉
