I have received a few acceptances so far, as well as some rejections, and waitlist spots, but I am still waiting to hear from four programs. One of them (Wright) I just had an interview at. Do you know when schools have to let us know by? I am just concerned because I need to let the other schools know my mid-April. Should I email the schools I have not yet heard from? Is it okay to ask the schools I was accepted at to extend the deadline?

I am waiting for the two schools I have interviewed with. I haven't heard if I am rejected, accepted or waitlisted. I was just debating whether or not t email/ call the DCT or POI. I am a little scared to. I don't want to seem too eager and come off as obnoxious. I wonder if there is a good way to go about it. I bet a lot of programs are waiting til the last minue because of the economy and are waiting for funding to come in. ... that's what i HOPE anyways.

I'm in this situation as well. I am waiting on George Washington University's Applied Social Ph.D. program. I'm thinking it's a rejection but I don't like to give up hope entirely because other programs have surprised me with their decisions. I think I'll end up calling them tomorrow and emailing them later if I don't get any response. It's time to be aggressive again! (...but in a friendly way, of course) 😉

Same situation here. I feel like my whole life is on hold while I'm waiting. I sort of just want to know if I'm in or out so I can consider my options and move on with my life (i.e; accept the masters program offer and make myself a stronger candidate so I can reapply in two years). Luckily, I should hear by this week 😱:xf:. Meanwhile, I've got my thesis to keep me company from the anxiety & stress that this process has been producing for the last few months (just found a ton of gray hairs that weren't there a few months ago )

I'm still waiting on CUNY so hopefully soon. I really don't want to wait for
April 15th.

by APA rules, they have until April 1 to give out initial offers.

Correct. The tricky part is that if you are an alternate you may not hear until the 15th because candidates have until that date to say "yea" or "nay" to an offer. This happens quite often.

There have also been stories of people getting accepted after the 15th because a program gets an additional spot or a candidate who previously accepted decides later not to attend. This stuff doesn't happen frequently but it does happen.

I am still waiting to hear something from Nova's Psy D. program. I know some others have already been accepted, so Im not too sure what my status is at this point. I have already been accepted to FIT, which is where Ill likely be in the fall, but I want to know all my options before I committ.

If you've received multiple offers, then take this time to decide between those and reject all but one of them. Its close enough to April 1st that you could email the other 4 schools and ask if they've made initial offers. I'd say its pretty questionable to ask for a deadline extension (April 15 is the APA mandated deadline, after all) but if you're waiting to hear if you're getting off a waitlist from a school you know you'd accept, you might ask.
