Ok, this is probably ridiculous, but I start MS1 in a month, and I am pretty chill for the most part... the only thing I am stressed out about is moving. How dumb is that? It was the same deal with my MCAT, AMCAS, Interviews, everything...I never got stressed about those things, but for some reason moving has always gotten to me. I guess everybody probably has some little thing like that that stresses them out more than it should...like traffic, parents, co-workers, Hugh Jackman, etc....what are other people's stress triggers and how do you handle them?

And yes, I know someone will write "people who make pointless posts on SDN" but it's rainy here now and it was supposed to be a nice day, so cut me some slack, lol.

Being stressed by moving is not dumb at all.
Are you moving very far from your current residence?
Maybe to calm down, blast some music and pick out posters for your new place? 😉

My stress trigger: thinking I'm going to be late.
How to deal: deep breathing. haha

I'm one of the weird people that LOVE moving. One of my hobbies is home renovation (I took some architecture and design classes pre-college) and I love fresh starts in new spaces. I'm so sad I have to wait a whole year until I move away for med school 🙁

If I have to relocate, Im kinda looking forward to it. Even though though I like my current hometown, i would definintely like to experience living somewhere else.

That's a good way to look at it Daisy. I'll just take that attitude.

and lol Baron! Everybody I know starting MS1 this fall (including me) is doing pretty much exactly the same thing.

I hate moving with a fiery passion. My problem is that my mom is also moving, and moving overseas no less, so I have to go through all her stuff, since she isn't here to do it. I still have no idea whether some of her stuff is going into storage or if she's taking all of it with her.

I am glad to be getting out of here, though. I don't like living where I do and am counting down the days til I leave.

I'm a year behind you, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm applying broadly and have no clue where I'm going to be ending up and that's exciting... I guess I'm just ready for somewhere new.
