3 interviews=1/3rd the pressure. 33% is really close to 0%. so basically 3 interviews = zero pressure. i majored in math.

I've heard that on average there is a 25-40% chance of acceptance at a given interview, therefore four interviews in the magic number.

However, I recently found out that they don't draw names out of a hat afterall, so this statistic is pretty meaningless.

And interviews are definitely addictive. I think a total of eight or so would be very nice, but I feel that is somewhat unrealistic. At least for me. 🙂

Sounds pretty reasonable. I really hope you get that Colorado interview! 🙂

As for me: UC Irvine, OHSU, USC, Tufts, VCU, Tulane, UVM. Oh and Northwestern. As you can tell, these are all quite likely. 😉

Am I greedy? Well a guy can dream. Plus if you average it with 0 interviews last year, then it seems much less greedy.

Shy, a guy in my lab with VERY similar stats to me (read:mediocre) got his email invite to CU last Thursday. I feel we can go two ways with this:
--we either get excited as his email gives us hope for an interview, or
--we bust his kneecaps. I really don't like him that much anyway.

I will follow your lead, but I am leaning toward going to the hardware store and buying a pipe! 😉

As for busting the kneecaps, i am all for it. I agree, we need at least twoooooooo interviews. But no complaints from me today, I still am in bliss. That may chance relatively soon though due to PMP (pre-med paranoia).

I am a new SDN member, and I know exactly how all of you feel...I took the MCAT in August (BIG MISTAKE! Didn't realize taking it late would hurt my application so much!) and am still waiting to hear from schools. In retrospect, I should have applied to more out-of-state schools, since the Texas schools started the process earlier than did AMCAS...Anyhow, I have only received an interview invitation from UT-Houston so far. I am praying that I hear back from other Texas schools soon! This is so stressful!!! Good luck, everyone!
