Yes, and everyone tells the truth. There has never been a 45, only recently could you even get one. I don't believe the people on here with 43's...its funny how the handful of people who did that well, all post here.
pianogirl was one of those and I believe her. Actually I believe most of them. The trolls are obvious, but there really are a lot of people on this forum that have done exceptionally well.

I found this forum because someone told me to go there when I had question...who knew it would be more addicting than smack

I agree, but don't you find it interesting that ALL of the 15's in verbal can be counted on these forums...some people don't have the time, especially those with 15's...to even look for a site like this. Where are the 1's?

I don't think a 15 on an individual section is as rare as you think it is. A 15 on all three is something else though.

I believe a lot of them too, and yes the trolls are obvious. But this is what bugs me...

MANY OF THEM SEEM TO POST THEIR HIGH SCORES ON SDN AND MDAPPLICANTS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF BRAGGING RIGHTS/TROPHY SHOWCASING 👎

(This is not directed at any user in particular)

Here's my proposal:
I'm sure a lot of you are prepping for the MCAT this August and I for one plan to take it next April. Wouldn't it be helpful to make a compilation of advice from top scorers for each section? I would be happy to attempt to create such a compilation and PM the MCAT aces if you're all interested. I could put all their advice anonymous (if they want it or leave their screennames if they desire to do so) which should keep the flames off. SDN is awesome in that it provides future medical students with the opportunity to get advice from the been-there-done-that crowd. What person preparing for the MCAT wouldn't want some tips from the MCAT pros (e.g. books used, pitfalls to avoid, strategies, etc.)? Instead we just get a bunch of "Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! I just got my MCAT scores back and I got a 42 R!" Congratulations, the great accomplishment and all, but that does nothing to help the SDN community. If they're proud of their achievement, that's wonderful and I think that's great. But wouldn't everyone else benefit more if they gave some advice? After all, we all want to be doctors to help people, right? 😉

So what do you guys think? Would it be helpful for me to try and make this compilation?

Ask the people on the MCAT board. They might be interested in something like this.

There are a bunch of threads like that in the MCAT forum, asking for advice from 30+ scorers, 15 Verbal people, and so on. Some of them were pretty comprehensive.

Okay will do, thanks for the suggestion! 🙂

Yeah, there are already tons of advice threads from high scorers on the MCAT board.

I've ran into some of them...but they're all scattered about. I just think it would be nice to have it all in one area with some fresh new suggestions...Congratulations on your score by the way 👍

A shift that high up in the score range certainly means that there were more people scoring 40+ this past April than any other past administration, even though they were at a lower relative percentile for April 2004.

Really? Wow... And i thought things were normalized. If I remember correctly though, wasn't a 42 in April 2004 where the 0.0% first kicked in, just like previous administrations? Too lazy right now to check out the AAMC bell curve.

A guy in my O-week group got a 43-45. He took it in 2002 and is going to Baylor.

I am not sure why people spend so much energy on this particular topic...

The difference between a 42 and a 37 is probably only a few questions here or there... And I sincerely doubt that adcoms will look at a 42 that much differently than a 36 or 37. Both are really great scores!

lol, I bet they're lying through their teeth. Dang them!
