I believe a lot of them too, and yes the trolls are obvious. But this is what bugs me...
MANY OF THEM SEEM TO POST THEIR HIGH SCORES ON SDN AND MDAPPLICANTS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF BRAGGING RIGHTS/TROPHY SHOWCASING 👎
(This is not directed at any user in particular)
Here's my proposal:
I'm sure a lot of you are prepping for the MCAT this August and I for one plan to take it next April. Wouldn't it be helpful to make a compilation of advice from top scorers for each section? I would be happy to attempt to create such a compilation and PM the MCAT aces if you're all interested. I could put all their advice anonymous (if they want it or leave their screennames if they desire to do so) which should keep the flames off. SDN is awesome in that it provides future medical students with the opportunity to get advice from the been-there-done-that crowd. What person preparing for the MCAT wouldn't want some tips from the MCAT pros (e.g. books used, pitfalls to avoid, strategies, etc.)? Instead we just get a bunch of "Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! I just got my MCAT scores back and I got a 42 R!" Congratulations, the great accomplishment and all, but that does nothing to help the SDN community. If they're proud of their achievement, that's wonderful and I think that's great. But wouldn't everyone else benefit more if they gave some advice? After all, we all want to be doctors to help people, right? 😉
So what do you guys think? Would it be helpful for me to try and make this compilation?
