Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has worked with Judy--she is a former admissions dean at Stanford, I think (med school). She has a web site online that explains her services--med school consulting. She charges $150 per hour.

Just wondering what people think who have used her services.

Thanks,

Tofurkey

What the... that's BULL SHIAT... +pissed+ ...... 😡...... 😳...... 🙁...... 🙄...... wait... where is this website again? 😀

Not sure I'd use it, but do you have the website?

I never used her but I know several people who did. She was more helpful for some than for others, definitely, Some people just liked the fact that some "experienced" was looking over their app and telling them what exactly they needed to add -- like working with underserved populations (free clinics, etc.) was a big one.

But in all honesty, if you have a decent premed advisor and have lots of people read your PS, I don't think she's worth it.

if you have common sense you don't need it... which is another way to say that many of you guys would benefit from her services.

if you're really interested in getting folks in the know to look at your application, ask around among doctors you know. i was able to find a sort-of family friend who is on the admissions committee at a local med school every other year (but not this year, so there wasn't a conflict of interest) who looked over my amcas and essays and gave me lots of good feedback. i think it was really helpful...and it didn't cost me $150 an hour. whew--that's a pretty steep price tag, especially considering how much you're already going to be spending on apps to begin with!

also, it seems like it would be helpful for the person who's looking over your stuff to know you, at least a little bit, which this woman wouldn't...
