Current DO students at Midwestern: What is considered a competitive sGPA in your school? If mine is only 3.2 and my cGPA is 3.4 what are my chances honestly?

It really depends on what the whole picture looks like. GPA is part of it, but what about MCAT? Healthcare experience at all? other extracurriculars? DO shadowing?


You can look at my MDApps, my GPA was similar, and my MCAT was mediocre at best but I applied the very first day and was there for the very first interview they had. Did you apply early? Its hard to give an idea about chances without the big picture. Even then though, its still a crapshoot

actually im am working on building a competitive application and I am hoping to apply in 2015. I am starting the medical assistant externship soon so by this summer I should be working as MA which would hive me some healthcare experience. I will take my mcat in 2014
