Hi All,

I was wondering if someone can help me out -- I received an email from Johns Hopkins when I submitted my secondary (simply indicating that the office received my secondary application) in September. This email stated that I should get another email when my application is complete and ready for review by the Committee on Admission. However, I never received that email. I have called the office a few times, but now they are no longer accepting status calls. Can someone let me know if the office actually does send out an email stating that your application is complete and ready for review? Because my app was complete back in September, so I think it should have been acknowledged as complete and under review by now...

Sorry for the long question, but if anyone has feedback, please let me know 🙂

Thanks!

about a month after i submitted my secondary, i got the following email:

We have received all materials required in support of your application to The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Your application will now be sent to the Committee on Admission for review. This process may take anywhere from several weeks until the end of April before a decision is reached.

Hi Lolita624 -- When did you submit your secondary?

september

also, are you sure your letters got there? that's why my email came a month later, because that was when my letters got there...

I did receive an e-mail from them when my application was complete. You might not have received one yet b/c either your LORs have not been received, the admissions staff is so backed up in reviewing applications that they haven't gotten to yours yet, or in the organized chaos that is the application review season, they simply neglected to send an e-mail to you.

Since they are not accepting calls right now, I recommend sending an e-mail. It may take awhile to get a response, but at least they will know that there may be a problem with your application.
