Has anyone who is on "hold" for an interview gotten off "hold"? Does everyone who does not get an interview initially get put on hold?

not, yet. should find out something this week. Any of you guys do anything extra to twist thier arms? Did it work?

Haven't heard anything yet...still waiting on hold.

I'm still on hold for an interview at Rush too, which in my mind translates to "waiting till we have ink in our printer so we can give you a formal rejection" at this point.

I sent Rush an updated transcript plus a one-page letter including why I feel their school is the best match for me, plus updates of my activities since applying.I have not heard anything, and have toyed with the thought of sending another letter soon, reiterating my desires to attend Rush. Anyone think this is a good/bad idea?

i went in to talk to the director of admissions in person yesterday. she said that there are still interviews to be had, and that 50-100 people (in-state) get off the hold category and get an interview. i think that's pretty significant. anyhow, i should be hearing by the end of this week too about an interview/rejection so ive got my fingers crossed. dont fret if youre in state for rush theres a very good chance you will get an interview if youre on hold for one.

good luck to everyone!

Imtiaz,

So the director said that IF someone gets an interview that he/she should hear by the end of this week? I hope so! This wait is really frustrating!

yea Imtiaz...did she say when we should hear?
Is the class filled?

well, i didnt ask on behalf of my friends on SDN. i just asked for myself. i dont know about everyone on hold hearing back this week, that's sort of a lot of files to review in the span of 5 days dont you think? they only interview 5 people at a time. anyway, just hang in there, there is a good chance that if youre on hold you will be interviewed, eventually.

I got taken off the list on Saturday and was offered an interview, so they are defiantly taking people of the list. Does any one know the time frame of interview completion to acceptance /denial? Any information would be appreciated.

Jim

i've been on hold since 1/25!!! i've sent new grades, a letter of interest, and still no invite yet. being an out-of-state applicant may have something to do with this...

well, i called this friday and the receptionist told me that the comittee reviews files of those on hold at random, and that i should call back next friday to check again. its good to see that people are, indeed being pulled off the hold category. keep posting those pull-offs and congrats to those whove been pulled off 🙂

Jim•••••Very quick - most applicants hear within two weeks of the interview date. I heard back from them in 1 month, but that was because of an unusual circumstance.

I called them Friday, too. They said they will be interviewing into May, so if you're still on hold, don't worry too much. The lady laughed at my reaction when she told me my status. "I'm still on hold?????" I guess she gets that a lot

Does anyone get any rejections though? It seems like they have put everyone on hold. Is that true?

I was on hold pre-interview until March 16th. They sent me interview invite papers this past Saturday. Will call them on Monday to set an interview date. So it looks like they do take people off the hold list.

I wanted to revive this thread to see if anyone has recently gotten off hold at Rush? And those who were how were you notified, email or by mail or both?

They notified me by regular mail (thin envelope) on March 16th – I was on hold pre-interview since January 25th. I called and set an interview date for the 3rd of April. I also requested them to call me if someone cancels - I live in Chicago and can be there the next day. So, on March 25th they called me that someone cancelled and I had an interview the following day – March 26th. They said wait two to three weeks for the decision. They still have open spots in the class. And they send you a confirmation e-mail with your interview date.
