Anyone gotten an interview at NOVA with an MCAT lower then a 24

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If it helps I got a 24 on my first crack at the MCAT. Scored quite a bit higher second time around. I have an invite to interview but won't be going. One more space for you yay! 😀

It has been done before of course, but it also depends on your GPA and ECs. DO schools tend to look at the whole applicant rather than just numbers, but of course the numbers count. Good Luck!

I don't know if they do look at the whole applicant, because my GPA is great, I have EC's up the wazoo, tons over 150 hours of clinical experience and they still haven't called me. I called them today and they said my application has been reviewed, but still nothing. So it looks as though NOVA will pass on me.

That sucks, I have a 3.8 and a 22, I am starting to feel as though it is a lottery to a certain extent.

Improve your mcat, and it's very likely that you'll do far better on a second round of applications. Aim for a 25 or so. Actually, aim for a 45, but 25 should drastically improve your chances.

I got into NSU with less than a 24, of course when the August scores came out mine shot up drastically. But I have to agree that it could be just a lottery of who gets picked. I'm local to NSU, so that could have something to do with it. And I had a letter from a professor there. Good luck!

Thanks, I do have one question, did your score go above a 25, and the second question is did you interview immeidately after your new mcat score or did you get an invite in lue of your august mcat?
