Since they usually give the match list to applicants I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the 2004 Baylor Match List? Could they scan it and e-mail it for me? I was curious where 1 or 2 people I met on the interview trail went. Radiology match is most important to me.

Good luck, man. I've been curious about Baylor's 2004 match list for a long time. No one will post it (and the match list for UTSW is always missing).

i have the mstp match list, but no names. let me know if you still want it.

Sure, we'll take it. With so many Baylor enthusiasts on this board, you'd think that somebody would simply post the entire match list. And what about UTSW?

They're not hiding it. If you email Melody Miller-Wasik ([email protected]), she'll send it to you if you ask. They sent me the 2003 match, but I've lost the email.

No surprises. About 40-45% stayed at Baylor; another 40-45% went to "prestigious" residencies across the country. And the rest went to other schools within Texas (Sorry in advance if my numbers are off, I'm basing this on rough memory. I just remember it roughly alternating... Baylor... harvard... Baylor... UCLA... Baylor... Baylor... WashU...)

Hey BaylorLion, could you PM me the list? I'm still considering Baylor and I'd like to see the match list.

elias514 - I wish I still had it, but I lost it thanks to an email virus. Email [email protected] and she'll send it to you pretty quickly. I had the 2003 match list, so you'll get the newer one anyway. I know people matched to Harvard, Emory and UCLA (it was on a Houston news report) and one of my cousin's friends matched to ENT at UPenn.

Actually, post it or PM over when you get it. I'm curious. And come on over to the Baylor board if you want to discuss Baylor further. We're discussing board scores right now. Michigan's great though - can't really go wrong either way. I think location and cost become the big factors - I think think they're dead even everywhere else. Don't know if there are any curriculum differences.

Actually, there are significant differences in the curricula at Baylor and Michigan.

Well, then I guess there's a 3rd thing to distinguish between the two. 😀

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about the match list. Email Melody to get it. But I think both have the reputations and will likely get you the board score (assuming based on average board score for past few years) that will allow you to get a residency you want. From what current med students have told me, match lists are a real imprecise way to judge schools, because of how subject they are to the career goals of a class. I think you should think hard about which curriculum will help you learn best, and then look at cost and location.

That said, get the match list for 2004 from Melody. And good luck making your decision - both are great places to train.

Like I said, no names for you to cyber stalk. Not sure if this really helps elias514 much though: I'm sure the UM MSTP matchlist is just as "prestigious."

I'm pretty sure all MSTP matchlists are just as "prestigious." From what I hear, once you do a successful MSTP, you pretty much get to name your residency. I think some highly competitive programs are all-but-closed to non-MSTP candidates.

I've got the UTSW Class of 2003 Match List. PM me with your email, and I'll send it to you.

if someone gets the list let me know or post it, without the names is fine.

The list has been posted over on the Baylor College of Medicine Class of 2008 board.
