Anyone hear from Chapman University ?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My friend got an acceptance email and I think a phone call yesterday. I called them today and said they will send out notifications starting tomorrow. Serena is no longer the admissions coordinator btw.. Adrian is in charge now.

Has anyone heard back, or know of an estimated response date?

Thanks !

Would you mind sharing stats? I'm applying next year and Chapman's my number one due to location. Also any helpful advice is appreciated TIA!

My friend had 3.8 pre req, ~3.2 cum and 155Q 150V 4.0 GRE (i think) but he also set up meetings to speak with Serena to boost his chances and it made a big difference.

I have a 3.6 pre req, 3.1 cum, 157Q 152V 4.0, and >3000 observation hours. This is my second go around though and hopefully my last! Good luck to everyone!

I haven't heard a thing. I guess Serena leaving took a toll on the admissions...

Seriously.. no word yet either. Have you tried contacting the new gentleman working there?

I haven't heard anything either! Glad I'm not the only one.

I got a reply (a very generic email) saying they are still in the process of contacting applicants about the Summer and Fall cohort of '16 and that we should receive a final decision within the "next few months." What's odd is that the email was sent from an SPT. They must be having issues finding a new admissions coordinator.

Just got my acceptance into their Summer 2016 program!!:clap:I think my persistence them helped my chances. Best of luck again guys!

Accepted 1/14

3.69 GPA
157 Q
155 V
4.5 W
600 hours vol @ 4 locations (40 inpatient)
no extra-curricular in particular

only got 2 weeks to decide, unfortunately

Has anyone else gotten a decision in the last few weeks?
Do you think calling them would be beneficial or that it could potentially cause my to be rejected by putting added pressure onto their selection process?

There was an email sent out on the 23rd that was titled "Chapman University DPT Fall Cohort Decision Update" that basically said they were super swamped with applications and that they'll be accepting on a rolling basis starting from January and for several months after that until the class is full...which gave me no new information haha.
Still waiting anxiously. Also considering giving them a call or shooting them an email but not sure if I should.

I'm on the waitlist, I emailed them and they didn't give me much info, just basically the same thing as the 'update' email gave.

Did you get on the waitlist?

Hi,
We're your >3000 observation hours as a volunteer ? Or were these hours as a PT aid/tech? 🙂

About 500 were volunteer (100 at the VA, and 400 as a lab tech) while the other 2500 were paid as and aide at an outpatient ortho. Sorry for the late response.

Been meaning to post here for awhile... I emailed them on 22-FEB-2016 on my app status. Got a reply 2 days later: Your application is currently under review. You should be receiving and admissions decision from our department within the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience and if you have any other questions please let us know.

Going to check out their info session on 02-APR-2016. Got into Samuel Merritt but still no decision from Chapman. Sigh...

Hey Everyone!

I know that this thread hasn't had much action in the past few months, but I am curious to know if anyone put on the waitlist at Chapman has heard anything after the waitlist email? When I went for a campus tour, the 2nd year student that gave me the tour said that the class before hers had the majority of people come off the waitlist, where as her class had only one or two, so there isn't really a trend that could be expected. I have called and left messages for Adrian, as well a verbal message with he assistant at the DPT office, but haven't gotten any responses.

I know it might be hard to glean anything from what admissions could tell me, but since the school that I have accepted a seat for is literally across the country (from both my current location and Chapman) in NC, and I would absolutely chose to attend Chapman over my current school, it would be nice to have a little info before I pack up my life.

Anything that you have heard would be great to know!

Thank you!!

You probably got the same email as I did, but I was told on 5/25 that they would not tell those on the waitlist what their personal position was, but that there were ~220 (!) people on the waitlist.

Wow, I was not aware that there were around 220 people on the wait list! I got an email telling me that I was on the wait list January 22, and it didn't have any info about how many people were wait listed.

I was able to finally get ahold of Adrian, and he said that the class is at 50 now, and that they haven't had anyone come off the wait list yet for this fall class. I don't know what the situation was for the summer class, but he said that they normally have at least some people come off the wait list by this time, so this situation was uncommon.

I asked about rankings and if they were making that information available to applicants at this time, and he said that the list is ranked, but they are not sharing that information.

Thanks for responding, gobears94, I appreciate your help!

PathforwardtoDPT, I applied last August, so I am in the 2015-2016 cycle. I guess that would be last year?
