Apparently, the interview scheduling deal was on a first-come first-served basis. Congrats to everyone who got the interview scheduled!

yeah, i hear that's how Stanford and Yale do it to. Out of everyone that submits a secondary, they have a 2 hour window in which you have to randomly check your status and sign up for an interview until they run out....
 
22nd was also one of the choices

At 5:15 am Central Standard Time, (6:15 pm here in China) I got an email with nothing in the body and the subject line "Rush Medical College Interview Confirmation"... I went to infostatz but it's closed for the next hour and a half for their 6 hour a night "Routine Maintenance."

Sweet, I think I just broke my F5 key.

Goodluck to everyone, I hope this means I have an interview for real...

Sorry Guys..I think it is a glitch...cause I got one too, and I did not fill out the secondary.

YES! I got it too, and was REALLY hoping that by coming on here you guys would have some answers for me! AHHHHH!! I'll be gone all day too, maybe i'll skip a class to check back in and see if there's some sort of an update!

I got this too..with the -1 in the body...I am glad I checked SDN before my email or else I would have been very excited for nothing....this seems like another glitch if someone who didnt even fill a secondary got the email....
 
If Rush really does schedule interviews this way, i dont even want to be taught medicine by the half-assed dumb F*** that thought of this idea. They can take kiss it and read about me graduating somewhere else.

i guess i'll give them the benefit of the doubt...maybe this is a new computer system for them and they've got no tech people on hand?
 
has anyone emailed them about all this?
 
im pretty sure they'll send us an email once business hrs start. and if they don't.. that's reallllll messed up

I just got the email and called them, they said its an error. 😡

Edit: I was also told no interview invites went out, I hate this process 😡
 
They REALLY need to send an e-mail out explaining this to everyone soon.

Seriously, if people aren't using SDN they are getting excited for no reason. This is really messed up.

You actually talked to a person!!! how the heck did you manage that? What number did you call??

I really hope i actually get the email of clarification whenever it comes since i didn't get that other appology email

I have to say i was excited to see the interview confirmation email, but then disappointed that it only say -1 🙁

Yea I got one too and filled out the secondary, but never sent in payment or the signiture form....so i doubt it's for real...unless they wanna interview me for free!!
 
i got the email as well...I replied to it and told them. Hopefully, we get an explanation today.

grrr.....I got it too. Way to get my hopes up. I just got an invite from Tufts but it looks like I won't go because my husband turned down his call back interview in Boston when I got rejected by BU and told by Tufts that my application had been reviewed a month ago. I asked if I was sort of on "hold" and the secretary said yes! Hating this process right now 😡
 
This is honestly the low point of my application so far. How cruel is it to wake up to find an "interview confirmation" email, only to find it was a mistake. And all I get from the admissions office when I call them is a terse "Sorry." I'm so mad right now... 😡 Well, at least we're in it together (?)

maybe they are calling us all #1. That's what I will be telling myself at least.
 
Talk about your nerve wracking emails! I was all pumped when I read the subject, then when I opened it, I find this cryptic -"-1" crap. Would that email was somehow legally binding and they have to interview us all now.

I hope so...My husband is in his last year of law school. I will talk to him and get back to you :laugh:
 
You know, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that it isn't binding in any way. :laugh:
 
Yeah would not try the law thing...will just piss off the school and ruin your chances...besides if they would have to interview so many people your chances of acceptance would be lower and you would be wasting money...just let them do it their way
 
Even if it was binding what would be the point of going to an interview that they didn't want to give, they would just say thanks for coming and mail the rejection the next day.

If it makes you feel any better Duke did something like this in the past couple of years too. My premed advisor was telling me about it (I think it was 2 cycles ago). They swapped their "rejection" and "interview invite" emailing lists. So all the people that were supposed to get rejected got interview invites and visa versa. She said it was a huge mess to clean up.
 
Kids, I was joking about the law thing.

but I am still hoping to be one of the ~100 people that they interview OOS
 
After all this I think they should at least let us know when real interview invites are going to go out.

Did anyone else get a cryptic email from Rush this morning?

The subject was promising and said "Rush Medical College Interview Confirmation" but the body of the email only had "-1".

I assume that this a part of the coding system that they use, but I have no idea what it means. I have had nothing but frustrations with Rush admissions. They "weren't there" to receive the delivery of my secondary which had to be resent (empty admissions office - not good) and then said that I was missing proof of citizenship which I had to resend...and now this. Urgh.
