Anyone heard from BU?

Anybody heard anything recently ?
 
I interviewed quite some time ago (Jan 22) and still have not heard back :-(.

I emailed admissions and received this response:

We are encouraging those students who have not yet heard back from us,
especially if you have not interviewed, to consider reapplying early
when the AADSAS website is again open. There is a slight chance that
you could be called in for a special interview but our regular
interviews will end soon. If you have already interviewed I ask for
your patience as the admissions committee not only reviews each
individual application but the class as a whole. I appreciate that
this is a difficult time in the application process, but I hope this
answers your question. Best of luck throughout the application process.

So I'm thinking this isn't the most hopeful of news for those of us who haven't received word yet. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... :-(
 
damn. well, it's not ever till it's over!!!
i really wish they'd tell us or that i can stop myself from checking my email compulsively lol
 
i actually just called too and was told pretty much the same thing: interviews have ended, and if you haven't heard yet, they recommend that you apply for the next cycle.
uggggh. obviously not what i wanted to hear, it'd just be nice if they didn't keep us hanging.
 
opal187, did they say that for people who have had an interview or for those who have not yet ?
 
I specifically said that I had an interview :S
and then i asked well is the class full? and she reiterated again that interviews ended last week so...(and she did kind of leave it as "...")

BUT! there's always hope! my friend goes to BU, she said that one of her friends got in quite late near the end of April

btw my patience has reached its limit seriously. As i said previously, my interview was on mid feb and haven't heard anything from them since then. They gave me sugar coated false hope during the interview that I thought I would get in for sure right after the interview..but now I realize that it was meaningless.

hmm... think that is a good or bad sign for me? I interviewed the same day, and still have yet to hear from them. They said it would be within 4-6 weeks, and it will be 9 weeks exactly tomorrow.... honestly, at this point because it has taken so long, I'm expecting a rejection letter, but it is strange that they are taking so long for me when they got back to your friend a while ago...
 
oh boy... I just read through last year's thread posted above... sounds like this could be a really stressful next few months for a lot of us. Lots of kids didn't hear back until mid-June or later. ughhhhh I don't think I can handle waiting that long!
 
I declined an offer three weeks ago. I heard back from them less than two weeks after my interview. Good luck everyone!
 
I just wanted to say for those that have been waiting a while not to give up hope. I interviewed January 15th and didn't get an acceptance until today 😀
 
congrats canboy! and thanks for the optimism, that's definitely lifted some of the negativity i've been feeling lately!!!

Congrats! How did they inform you? Via email, phone or snail mail..?

do you remember who you had for the interview? how did the interview go? I interviewed with someone from enrollment services and was little worried...
 
Hey guys, I will be rejecting my offer pretty soon, so there's another spot open for one of you!
 
They notified me via email. As for the interview, I left with an overall positive impression. Hope this helps.
 
hey all -- have any march interviewees heard anything yet??
 
havent seen any updates on aadsas since the first time i was under review. I just took the DAT for the second time and wondering if i should send them my scores, but I guess if I havent been interviewed yet then I dont really have a chance, but I think im gonna call them tomarrow because it doesn't hurt to try.
 
well... it looks like they're handing out waitlist spots... I just got an email telling me that I'm on the alternate list :-(.

I guess it's just time to keep my fingers crossed that enough people decide to withdraw their applications.

Has anyone else been put on the waitlist?
 
I got put on the alternate list too 🙁 I really wish I would get an email in a couple hours saying "Oh just kidding, April Fools! You're in!" that would be great... does anyone know how many people ended up getting accepted off the alternate list last year?

haha, I was hoping the same thing! What a silly April fool's joke...

I think I read in last years thread that either very few or none of the SDNers from last year who were alternates got in... but the year prior, a bunch of them got in. So I'm thinking there isn't much of a trend, it just varies year to year whether the people who've been accepted decide to back out. So I guess we'll just have to hope that enough people decline their offers that we can get in :-/
 
Those who got alternated/waitlisted, when did you guys interview at BU? My interview was on Mar 5th, and I haven't heard anything since.
 
I interviewed on January 29th and yesterday was the first time I heard back from them since then
 
interviewed mid Feb and alternate listed yesterday. did anyone that interviewed in feb get accepted lol.
 
I interviewed on Feb 5th and have not heard anything yet.

I guess thats a good thing? Or maybe my e-mail is on the way, only time will tell.

I got in today! 🙂 I got an email yesterday telling me there was an open spot and today got the official acceptance letter.

I am from Vancouver in Canada.

cDAT scores:
PAT 22
AA 21

GPA 3.6 at University of British Columbia in General Science

Lots and lots of shadowing and volunteering experience both dental and nondental.

Interviewed Feb. 19th.

Hey,

I was not placed on an alternate waitlist. Did not hear anything after my interview until I got accepted. I applied 3 days into the cycle but my documents didn't arrive until a month after the cycle begun.
 
is this what ppl meant by alternates having a lower chance of getting in than non-alternates??

I was also accepted on Friday!! I interviewed on Feb. 5 and did not hear anything until Friday. So alternate list is def. not a good thing.

I will be most likely taking the seat. I am debating between Case Western or BU. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Does this mean that all the spots are filled, and as someone declines, then a person will be offered? I feel like there are spots open and that BU takes there time in deciding, but seeing the letter they sent Gem, it seems like the class is full and they are offering spots as they open. Any idea's?

Just got the same email saying that there was an open spot and that they would like to extend an offer to me!!!! So stoked, my first acceptance. Such a freakin stress reliever man [sigh...]

Btw, I wasn't waitlisted, interviewed on Mar 5th and this is the first time I heard back since the interview.

Now just waiting on the official acceptance letter...
 
YEAHHH!!!

Just received the same email. I'm so excited. Good luck to everyone and don't lose hope! I applied to 14 schools last June, received 3 interviews, and finally received my first acceptance. Just keep praying and have hope!

For those of you who have recently gotten accepted, did you guys keep calling BU for status update or write a letter or intent or did you guys just wait it out?

Just waited it out. I definitely was not expecting that email from them yesterday morning.
