lol... thanks for the congrats. I am actually now going to cancel my interview trip back east and go and visit a friend in El Paso instead in March so if you're in El Paso let's celebrate 😉

And thank you everyone else for the congrats and support. This has just been such a long process and this acceptance feels so good. SDN has really been an amazing resource for the past year and half. I hope that all of you get into Davis or wherever else you want to go!

It is awesome and unbelievable!! I never thought they'd tell us, much less all on the same day. And it is such a conincidence that I happened to call this morning and find about the mix-up with my letter of 3 weeks ago on the day they called everyone else.

So I just got home to my waitlist letter from Stanford but the nice thing is I don't even really care that much. The Davis acceptance has me so stoked I'm totally okay with it cuz it was a LONG longshot anyway. Since Stanford was the only school I might have gone to over Davis it looks like Davis is it for me. 🙂Awesome. Now I'll only have to move in-town.

Life is good. Congrats everyone, our waiting paid off! See you in the fall.

You'll have the opportunity to use the new kick-ass rec. hall opening in summer of 2004. IT IS AWESOME. Also, you may want to start looking for housing right away because vacancy rates are pretty low in Davis. Oh yeah, you may want to get a bicycle as well

Where is the new residence hall? I live here right now but am not a Davis student so I don't know too much about the campus housing. The crazy thing is that my cousin and I got a notice about renewing our lease and couldn't because I had not heard back from them. So we did not renew so the rent will go up. Oh well, our apartment is kinda bad anyway, so maybe this is a sign that it is time to move for next fall...

Sorry, I should not have abbreviated recreation hall (rec. hall). Recreation Hall is the awesome new gym that's being built on La Rue....really close to the medical school. I think graduate students may have access to it next year.
If I were you, I would try to get into graduate housing close to "The Colleges". It's cheap and convenient, atleast for the first two years.
What apartments are you living in right now? Maybe we should meet up! I rarely get to meet fellow SDNers.

I applied late, and since I hadn't heard anything since submitting my secondary, I called the admissions office today just to check up on my status. lo' and behold, Terri told me that I should be receiving an interview offer soon (woo hoo!!!). Case in point, a new batch of interview offers will be made shortly (once Ms. Hall gets around to sending out the emails). There is still hope for all of us waiting on Davis (or a UC, for that matter)!!! 🙂 Yeah!

they email interview invites. and it says on there on the subject whether or not its gonna be an interview or a rejection.

someone asked ed when we were there interviewing and he said that the committee meets once a month. maybe that is changing since it seems like they are somewhat slow?

maybe you should email/call them and see what's up? i mean you interviewed the week after me so it has now been like 3 months. and as you probably read earlier they had sent my letter to the wrong place... so it might not hurt to send an email or something. then again, it seems from last month like they send a round of acceptances at the beginning and end of the month so maybe it'll be coming any day. the wait really sux. i hope you hear good news soon 🙂
