Anyone in any medical fraternities?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

How many of you have found medical fraternities helpful??

I've heard that sometimes the networking can help a lot in getting residency positions, etc....There seems to be so many of them though

AOA is the only one that matters IMO.

What about Phi Delta Epsilon??

They claim that they're an international fraternity and it starts at the Premed level

NEJM, Science, Nature, Cell

These are some of the most exclusive clubs. If you can get in, they will help with getting a good residency spot.

If you mean Alpha Epsilon Delta and Phi Delta Epsilon, they're not that useful - you get what you put in, so you could devote yourself to that and get officer positions/etc. out of it but IMO it's not worth the effort. It's essentially a smaller pre-med club, and SDN can fulfill the purposes of either much better.

Instead of spending time with that, you could put that towards research, service, something you're genuinely interested in and pursue any of those paths instead. If you want a fraternity experience, rush a real fraternity.
