Anyone accepted with a poor undergrad GPA (2.5-2.8) and average MCAT (27-30) that did a masters degree (4.0)?

I need to know. I have a poor undergrad GPA and the ADCOMS told me to do a Masters. SO I am, and kicking its ass. I have a 4.0 in Grad School, but now they are reniging in what they said and harping on my undergrad past, totally ignoring my Masters work and what they suggested. 😡

Any practical suggestions out there?

Have you considered osteopathic schools. As you probably know, they generally look beyond numbers. I've heard it debated that people should do a masters or do a postbac. Either way, I think most recent work counts. When you say your GPA is a 2 something, is that science or overall? How did you do in the basic sciences, the required classes?

Good luck.

my undergrad was pretty decent, good MCAT, and I did a masters (MPH in Epi). So I wasn't in your exact situation, but I've heard a lot of things said about master's students. Here's what I've come to believe:

-nothing will ever erase your undergrad GPA. Ever. Sorry

-some people will be impressed by your 4.0, some will be pretty skeptical of it

-probably of greater importance than your GPA is what you get out of your program. Explain how it makes you a better candidate in your PS/essays/interviews. I'd much rather have a 3.5 grad GPA and great experiences to explain than a 4.0 and not much to show for it.

Goodluck!
