Hi,
Could you tell me where you stayed? And if from NY, how you traveled there? And if you don't mind, how did you like your interview (was it stressful, etc..). Thanks! :D

hey girl I just wanted to say CONGRATS on your interviews! And don't forget to read everything on interviewfeedback.com in addition to what people post here. Buena suerte!

Muchas gracias Dr. Foxy! Tu eres el mejor! :D

I'm not from NYC or Buffalo, but I can ask my co-worker about his hometown. I also know that if you can get to Long Island, Southwest flies to Buffalo and it's pretty cheap. I'll let you know tomorrow!

Hey,
Anobody knows when they stop interviewing?

Thanks!

Thanks Dr. Kermit!

Qwert,
I received an invite via e-mail today. My interview date is 2/27, so I am assuming that they have quite a bit of interviewing left.

Congrats on the invite!!!

They should send you a packet containing where to stay including students that volunteer to put you up for the night. Look into Jet Blue. I think it flies out of LGA (if not JFK) for about $115 round trip.
Good luck

Hey Jet Blue rocks! I've flown the Buffalo --> NYC route several times. Each seat has its own little TV, all-leather seats, NO first or business class (none of this hierarchy nonsense), friendly staff, and best of all wicked cheap. They are one of the few airlines that has GROWN since Sept. 11th and not laid off any employees. I'm definitely a fan.

Whoa Jet Blue is cheap <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> . I just checked out their website, thanks everyone.

Hiya daisygirl! (again) I interviewed about a month ago and was accepted two weeks ago...they tell you right up front 25% get in automatically 50% waitlisted and 25% rejected...it was a little intimidating because the day I was there about 3/4 were from ivy schools....they make you write a 10 minute essay, which I found stressful. They also have a list of questions they are suppose to ask, interviewer (the student interview) did ask the questions, one was: name someone who has been in the news lately and what you would ask them....a second was who is your best friend how would they describe you and honestly I don't remember the others....my other interviewer who was the retired dean of admissions didn't ask me any of those questions and asked me tons of ethical questions (which is NOT typical) I stayed with a student who was really cool one night and at motel 6 the other night (nice but you will need a car to get there) I drove....good luck if you have any more questions just pm me!

Hey Daisy-

I just asked my friend, he said that he actually hasn't been to downtown Buffalo in a year or so. So, he doesn't know of any hotels off hand, but he says the buses on Main Street (Is that where the school is?) are really convenient and pass by any hotel frequently. He also said that cabs my be more direct, but harder to access.

He said if you look up hotels, he can let you know the quality of the hotel.

Hope this helps you a little-
Chrsitine

Thanks Dr. Kermit and Trout.
:D :D :D
P.S. Trout I pm'd you :)

I'm from Buffalo and know the area fairly well. There's an inn right near the medical school (probably about 10 minutes walking distance). It's at the intersection of Main St. and Bailey. I don't know how their prices are.
Some other options are the Marriott hotel and a Red Roof Inn that's right near the undergraduate campus on Flint Rd. between Millersport HWY and Maple Rd. The med school is about a 15 minute drive from the undergraduate campus. To get from those hotels to the med school, turn right onto Millersport from Flint and keep driving until you hit Eggert. Turn left onto Eggert and drive until you hit Main St. turn right onto Main until Bailey. Turn left onto Bailey and the med school should be on your right side.
Hope this helps somewhat.
