Just asking did anyone had an interview at WJU? They sent me invitation letter. Besides individual interivews, a timed writing sample will be included among the scheduled activities. I also have to participate in a mock tutorial session. I feel a little bit nervous about the interview...

I actually deferred a year and will be starting in the Fall due to my wife finishing up her degree, but I can tell you about the interview. I had my interview with a faculty member and a student, which I liked the most. They will ask you a variety of questions such as how do you deal with stressful situations, if a classmate is not pulling their weight in class how would you approach that person, if you and another student are doing clinicals and one student has a problem with the CI, what would you suggest they do. The timed essay was very easy, having some prior experience in the field helps to some point. I loved the mock tutorial, it gave you a chance to really analyze the study that was given to you and pull pieces of information that would be pertinent to your patient. The best advice that I can give you is to be yourself number one, relax (everyone is there for the same reason and nervous too), do some research about the program (they like to know that you are interested in going to their school and know something about their program), take a resume just in case. You should be fine, trust me I'm still nervous about heading back to school, its been three years so I'm trying to study some of my anatomy again. If you have any advice for me or hear from any other PT students on what to study let me know. Hopefully we will be classmates in the Fall. Goodluck and let me know if you need anymore advice.

Thank you so much. I have a few more questions...so they don't have any group interview? What do you mean by CI? For the timed essay, do I have to use specific medical terms? Is there anyways How I can prepare for the mock tutorial?

Thank you so much!!

What's the mock tutorial all about? I am also looking at WJU. The tuition is intimidating though.

The CI is just the clinical instructor, the interview is only you, a faculty member, and a current student. As for the mock tutorial look at it as a case study of one of your patients. They will not use this, however, it will give you an idea of what you have to do. If you were given a patient with all of his/her history, and current problems, what information can you pull from your case that would help you make the most of his/her therapy. It is really easy to be honest with you and makes you think, and I believe was the best part of the interview experience. As for the essay, you do not need to use medical terms to have a successful essay. Just be clear and concise. I know the tuition is a lot, I guess the way that I look at it is that our wonderful government has given us oh 25-30 years to pay off these loans.lol I know I already owe a good amount of money for undergrad and will be paying them back the rest of my life, but I enjoyed the interview and felt comfortable with that school.
